If you have the iBurst USB modem your choice in routers is quite limited. Have a look at the Billion 7402GXL mentioned at the beginning of this thread.

Router to use with Kyocera USB modem

Please help with which router and adapter I can use with iburst wireless..

I have the Iburst USB modem... Purchased the Billion 7402GXL .. The firmware specifically has a section for IBURST modem which most other routers dont have.... Paid about R1500 for it... but just a few months and I saved that cost on mobile data by sharing the Iburst wirelessly and not having to purchase cellular data etc... very easy to setup and a very good router...

can anyone please help me??? what is the most cost effective router to use with a desktop modem to create a wireless network? please pm me info. thanks

The TP-Link MR3420 works well with my Desktop modem. Costs R485 for myBB members.

I use the TP-LINK WR941ND 300MBPS WIRELESS N ROUTER with my 1MB iBurst desktop modem. Router works like a charm ... now just to get iBurst sorted :P

I just almost moer'd of my chair. I was checking the price of the 2MB modem (R4399) which is ridiculous when you compare getting a Huawei E367 (Capable of up to 21.6Mbps Downlink and up to 5.76 Uplink Speed) HSDPA modem for R599.

But the actual moering of my chair part is when I saw that iBurst charges R1821 for a MikroTik RB750 router when one can get it from Scoop for R387.60 incl. VAT.

This is a 471% mark-up on the device. And then installation/configuration is still charged separately?

I'm all for taking your cut, but this is ridonculous.

Hi Guys

Look on their website for a compatibility list.

It is unlikely though, as the iBurst USB modem requires a completely different driver to the GSM/3G/HSPA modems.

Hi Guys,

I've seen everybody mention the Desktop modem (Dark Night), I however have the other smal USB one, the small black one that looks like a cellphone and comes with a plastic stand.... Can this be used with a 3G router of some sort via the USB??

The first couple of posts in this thread relate to the USB modem.

Hi Ronald!

This is great news. I am looking for router with at least 4 ethernet ports and wireless that I can use my iBurst as WAN connnection. Did it work with all the 3G routers? Not a specific model?

Looking forward to your reply.

Stephan
