Hi
I'm close to pulling the trigger on an iMac 20-inch 2.66GHz.
Currently have Telkom USB pots modem on pc, for some odd reason Netgear router will not work on my dsl line.
Telkom response = eish!!

Now I believe my pots modem will not work with iMac!?

Question is will Telkom (Billion, I think) wireless router work with iMac??

Thanks

Um yeah, Telkom haven't heard of Apple Inc.

My Mega 100 whatever router from Telkom works fine on my iMac.
They usually have a section on the Telkom setup CD, but u don't need any of it.

If nobody here can give u a definitive answer re your particular router, then try phoning an Apple shop. List in here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=63202

Thanks alf!

Last thing I want is to get rid of pc and not get onto net!
Serious WoW addiction going...

What kind of POTS modem is it?

Your Telkom router will use the 802.11g wireless protocol....so assuming that your MAC uses 802.11b/g protocol they should connect no probelm.
I have used my Billion with a Mini MAC and that works 100%.

The older Telkom router's dont work with the Mac simply because they dont support the older security technology used in them. To get the Mac to work with these older routers you need to turn off security on the router and enable MAC address restrictions.

I wish alf!!
Nope, 20-inch it will have to be.
Just worried about pending upgrade and graphics ability for WoW...

Hi
Got iMac yesterday and works fine with Telkom wireless router.
No need to install any software!
Have not checked whether pots modem works.
Thanks for the advice.
