Important DA announcement expected

As an avowed non-racialist I'd be deeply disappointed if the DA chose a leader based on her/his colour so that it can make "inroads" among the electorate. I wouldn't like a DA that has support from people because of the leader's race. This is what we're trying to get away from.

As can be seen from an other democratic country, people tend to rally against a leader from a minority race using any excuse they can come up with.;)

If DA needs to make inroads and gain power, they need a black leader....its called politics

This is why mmusi is the perfect candidate. He is young, educated, black and not afraid to speak up against those old anc farts in parliament. He appeals to both black and white. I doubt the DA will lose any of the white voter base if they put him in charge. I mean who else are they going to vote for? The ff+?

The reactionaries will, yes.

Anyway, Mmusi will just be labelled a colonial agent.

OD's right. He's "Tea-boy for the White Meddim".
But with him in charge, he's calling the shots and not answering to the maddim anymore. I suppose the tea - person thing is quite difficult to break after mazibuko. Though an older black woman is going to be a maid and an older black guy is going to be a gardener. I think though he is more grass roots than mazibuko. She was quite the coconut.

Well I wish Mmusi the best of luck (let's face it, there aren't any other potential candidate). As for the haters that will say he's the meddim's garden boy etc etc he will have to overcome that by making his own mark. The meddim has been holding the DA back because it's a "white party" with her around. Nothing against her personally of course, but that's just the way the country is.

Pity Vavi isn't eligible. I'd vote for the DA with Vavi in charge.

Mmusi Maimane is the logical choice, and I hope he gets the nod.
His only hindrance is that he is male. Black females trump black males in this country. But my opinion is that anyone would be better than Zille. She was a pillar of strength and an thorn in the side of the ANC, but she is now past her sell-by date.

Well, Who else are you gonna vote for if not the DA? The EFF?

/no argument intended, just wondered

I voted ID before they merged with the DA, then DA and Agang last year (yeah I know).

Will see what's potting next year.

The DA lost my vote because of their nanny state liquor laws in the Cape. EFF is an option just because they make trouble.

Well the main objective that I see, Is making the ANC loose votes - The DA is the only real competitor at the moment big enough to make any change in this country - So that's why I vote DA. There's no real choice otherwise.

Also, The EFF are also pretty anti-white.

Anyways, I have a british passport - so when the *** hits the fan, I'm outta here (Although I don't want it to get to that stage)
