Impressive Rain 5G performance after network changes

Tests of Rain’s 5G network in Pretoria and Centurion have shown an impressive performance, with download speeds exceeding 500Mbps in certain areas.

MyBroadband conducted this testing following complaints from Rain 5G subscribers about slow speeds and intermittent connectivity issues.

Yeah, I mentioned this a couple of days ago in one of the Rain threads... Speeds have improved quite significantly.... Still seeing quite a big disparity between office hours and after hours performance, but honestly, with the plug and play setup we've adopted, this is more than respectable!! Might look at an outdoor, roof top installation once installers and handymen are back in business...

This is Kempton Park btw, apologies, not Centurion/PTA...

i have a complaint regarding rain 4g i am currently using rain unlimited 19hours 4g
my internet is absolutely slow
i have sent a complaint to rain support but yet to get a response or help.
a relative did a speed test on his lap top and said I'm getting download speeds of 1mbps. this is really unacceptable and ridiculous on their web site we are promised speeds of up to 10mbps but we definitely not getting that
i am living in phoenix durban
can someone please look into this issue
thank you

Yeah . How long did you stay in one area to test? When mine had a connection it was awesome, it’s those 10 times a day that it disconnects that we’re a pain

I am also in Durban and over the 2 past weeks or so my download speeds were averaging less than 1mbps. 4 days after logging a complaint I receive a generic reply this morning asking for my exact location and device I am using to connect to the Rain network.

Lets see how many more days I must wait to get a response now........

trying cancel my rain, and they have taken the option away, anyone have an idea on how to get hold of theses people. and i have logged a service request

In Centurion with 2 VPN connections open etc:
Server: rain - Johannesburg (id = 21439)
ISP: rain
Latency: 17.98 ms (2.38 ms jitter)
Download: 358.23 Mbps (data used: 342.9 MB)
Upload: 25.27 Mbps (data used: 25.4 MB)
Packet Loss: 0.0%

Centurion :)

Latency to EU is also pretty decent. 162ms-170ms to London. Not bad for wireless last mile.

Only the router, it seems like from the photo. The inverter powers the PoE PSU, which in turn powers the Router. No laptop charger/PSU involved here.
OK. Wonder if the router then runs on more than 12v DC. Will be interesting to know.

Still getting below 100Mbps in Rooihuiskraal, using an ethernet cable, and according to the activation screen, excellent signal.
So, nothing really changed.
