For some months I have been experiencing very very slow speeds when browsing. Even when attempting to access sites like news24 I sometimes must wait for a long time. I have a 10 meg line and use either axxess or afrihost. It doesn't matter which browser I use (currently FF). I've included the stats from my netgear DGN 2200 router in the hope that someone could offer any help.
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8163 kbps 1023 kbps
Line Attenuation 41.0 db 23.0 db
Noise Margin 8.6 db 6.8 db

have 8mb line btw :P

Noise Margin 8.6 db 6.8 db

drop your speed to 6mb you tad far from exchange for 8mb, or try new router, your snr is low

So you are suggesting that I contact the exchange which is about 3k from the house and ask them to drop the speed?
My SNR is low - Presumably that is good?

no snr needs to be high 12+, i my self is on 6mb line was told its max i could get, i have about 38 line Attenuation, probably why they only gave me 6mb.

+1 to what hereticangel said.

Rather just phone Telkom and ask them to drop your profile to 6Mbps, unless you prefer instability over a slight speed decrease.
