Intalling new Harddrive.

Recently bought a Samsung HD502HI,I connected the 2 SATA cables (the red one and the black power one).Now the problem is that i don't know what to do now,My PC picks it up (in device manager)but it doesn't show in MyComputer (i can't add data to it because i can't find it).I tried windows auto detect hardware but it says the device is working properly.please help
 
control panel-admin tools-computer managament-storage-disk management. Right click at the bottom. FOrmat & assign drive letter.

Right click on the "Disk 1" Unallocated box. Create new partition... or Initialise new disk.
 
Ok thanks for the help HavocXphere and moggie.Formatting is going to take awile.Is there anything i need to do when it's done?

What i meant was,when it's done formatting,can i use it or are there more installation steps.But i guess you just answered that.
 
Should have ticked the quick format box, nope don't need to do anything else once it's done formatting.

Not with a brand new disk. Better to let it run a proper format once as it will also cause the internal deadsector detection to run over everything once.
