Why not. My current iphone has 256gb and i have only used up 52gb, I have had it since jan 2020, if i upgrade i will definitely save some money and get the 128gb.

Same here, 50 or 60GB used, I've no need for a bigger capacity phone.

I still download all my music onto my device, like when I’m flying or travelling or don’t have proper signal.
128gb is more than enough if you backup everything to iCloud.

Same here. I guess depends what you do with it. I don’t have no time to battle with getting proper signal in the gym to stream my music.

You won't see a massive difference between these two using standard photo mode (especially when uploaded and compressed), in RAW mode the difference will be more substantial.

the point is 99% of people out there would just point and shoot … to me there is little difference between the two and if I zoomed into the pictures text looked a little clearer on the 13 pro max.

Overall really comparing the two (I.e 14 pro max 256gb to 13 pro max 256gb) I would advise people to stick with their 13s … very side ways “upgrade”

Ps: have a 13 pro max and just bought the 14 pro max and just giving my very unbiased opinion.

It makes zero sense for anyone to ever recommend the regular iPhone 14 when the iPhone 13 will still be there at a cheaper price. Your only getting a slightly (and I mean slightly) better camera where the images will be compressed by Instagram anyway. Crash detection - is that a must? Do not get the 14, the 13 Pro is a better buy and like-for-like the regular 13 is the same phone. 14 Pro is a different story.

Yeah, don't really want to stretch to 14 Pro contract repayments, hence wondering if the 13 Pro might be better option than the standard 14.

Why 128gb?

- Most of my stuff is in the cloud.

- Previous phone was a 64 and I still have 10 gig free after 2 years - seemed like a waste to go higher.

I cloud is only applicable to some data. Music, YouTube etc takes up physical memory and gets full very quick.

I don't store YouTube or massive amounts of music locally- that's what WiFi and LTE/5G is for.

But even so you can fit 3000 songs in 16GB more than enough for travelling and then an irregular event at that.

I buy devices (and most other things) for the 95% use case not the 5% outlier events.

iOS is so good at self-managing offline storage it’s really not an issue at all to always have music with you without even making a big effort.

I'm quite surprised at how much heavier the 14Pro feels compared to the 12 - weighed both with their cases on and the 12 clocks in at 188g, the 14P is 240g. My wife's 13 is 204g.

Interestingly, the screen seems a touch brighter on the 12 - only noticeable when held side by side.

DI is very cool - love the indicators when there is audio in the background and the ability to switch to it with a quick tap. As others have noted I'm really looking forward to more use being made if it.

I do like the Always On mode since my phone also serves as a bedside clock .

The additional camera lens definitely will take a while to get accustomed to - found the switch to the macro lens when bringing objects close quite jarring initially.

The combination of absolute familiarity (phone to phone transfer was a cinch) with some new refinement and features is a joy.

I noticed that too, it's really noticeable in the hand. Though I'm starting to get used to it.

I found this annoying too, there's a toggle in camera settings that shows the macro indicator in the camera app, so you can disable/enable it.
