iPhone 15 Rumours & Release Date

It’s also very interesting to see that the 15 Pro Max thermals seem to be among the lowest in many of these tests especially after iOS 17.0.3, tests have mostly seen a drop in temperature and gradual increase in performance.

Seems the A17 Pro was never the problem as Apple originally stated but rather early iOS 17 FW.

I was at the Soweto Derby game on Saturday and I did a lot of photography with my 15 Pro Max, battery was excellent and it barely got warm, did a lot of zooming in and out and I can immediately tell that Apple must have done a lot of testing in stadiums when developing the 5x optical zoom tetra-what-what lens they put in this device, will post some pics later if MyBB allows.

I’m still after that ESR case but will have to wait until mid November for it. I’m fine until then, was just wondering about other choices.

Mid November and the case rocked up this afternoon.

I must say, it feels much better than the official Apple see through case. Nowhere near as slippery. Thanks for the recommendation @Dave :D

Is it just me with an iPhone 15 (not the Pro) that gets warm when using cellular? I switched off 5G because it got even hotter.

On MTN.

How is everyone’s A17 Pro dealing with this heat?
Anyone’s 15 Pro/Pro Max melted yet…
Both my 15 PM and Mate 40 Pro have been running a little warm today, lol!

Picked up an iPhone 15 256gb in Thailand last week from Apple directly.
Paid 36,900.00THB and then got 2,414THB vat refund at the airport on my way back to SA.
Worked out ±R18,300. So nearly R7k cheaper than iStore sells it for in SA.

Upgraded from a 4 year old iPhone XR.

Really nice now that it's USB-C.
Also picked up new AirPod Pro's purely for the USB-C case, so now all that's still on lightning is my Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard, everything else I own is USB-C eg camera & headphones.

Didn’t realise Thailand iPhone prices were decent. How’d you get the VAT refund?

I too was surprised - generally Malaysia and Singapore is cheaper.

You fill in a form at the store and then upon departure at the airport you can get a refund at customs in Thailand on your way out. Only works if you're on a tourist visa.

Thanks for letting us know. iPhone 15 Pro decently priced there it seems!

Just realised I can fly to Thailand and buy the phone then come back and it’s still cheaper. Even more so with a 15 Pro and a 15 for the Mrs.

Is your iPhone generally running cool? My 15 seems to be getting quite hot, especially when using it in the car (even with the A/C on and using carplay and on mobile - but never in the sun)

Congratulations and enjoy! :D

Completely agree the move to USB-C has really been great, a lot of my other devices (headphones, iPad Pro, secondary phone etc...) all use USB-C, glad the iPhone finally moved to it to.
