iPhone 15 is the best-selling smartphone in Q3 2024 worldwide
According to Counterpoint's market research, the vanilla iPhone 15 was the best-selling smartphone in the world in Q3 this year. The handset is followed by its siblings, the iPhone 15 Pro Max and 15 Pro.
However, Samsung took more spots in the top 10, many of which are occupied by the company's budget Galaxy A series. The Galaxy S24 placed tenth, outperformed by Xiaomi's Redmi 13C.
In total these 10 smartphones accounted for an impressive 19% of the total sales in the Septemnber quarter.
There's a noticeable shift in consumer demand as users are now looking for higher-end phones, including in emerging markets. Due to reasonable trade-in offers and local financing schemes, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max see significant growth in those markets.

Just to come back to this after 8 months with my 15 Pro Max.
80% gets me 6 hours of screen-on-time with 18 hours standby over a 24 hour period. All on Wifi, 5G disabled.
Still 100% battery capacity, so I guess the change comes from the new iOS being more battery intensive and TikTok being a battery-sponge.
I also took some videos and photos recently on a game drive when it was 38C. First time experiencing the screen dimming itself due to heat. Towards the end it was even dimming at 60% screen brightness. Had to hold it upside down on my pants between game sightings to try cool the display down because it was quite hot to the touch.

Need to actually check how mine performs once I get off Beta and load the final 18.2 build. That being said it has been great so far, especially in the later Betas.
As for Battery Health my 15 Pro Max is at 100% Health with 227 cycles.

15 Pro Max update. 156 cycles 288 days. Charge limit 80%. Always using an 18w slow Apple charger.
Apple Intelligence update dropped and less than 2 weeks later it's now 99% battery health.
I try to baby it more than others but it seems like degradation over time is inevitable. Seems like the best strategy is just use it how you like without worrying and just replace the battery after it starts not lasting a day in 4-5 years.

Most of the big stores are doing it now, such as Cavendish, Canal Walk, V&A, etc. Takes around 2 hours.
