iPhone 3G pricing details

I'm still on the fence on this one... but itweb says they are bringing in 30 000 units which will satisfy the demand of the "pre-order" sales... that doesnt seem all that high? Is it?

Yes, very much so, thanks.

It's a funny one, though - the iPhone is amazing at multimedia (save for the camera and lack of video recording), eye candy interface, etc. but (IMHO) a mediocre smart phone (and related feature-wise), and the E71 is a kickass smart phone but mediocre at multimedia. They both have crappy cameras though :D

And a better camera with autofocus and video recording capability ;) Oh and the ability to use Bluetooth for synching, transferring data, etc.!
 
bought my iphone yesterday morning on prepaid - really stoked with it but cant make use of the 3g/edge/data services and the normal *111# doesnt send the settings for it... would anyone be able to point me in the right direction there?

seem to have solved the problem - just needed to change the APN from "iphone.vodacom.??" to "internet".

I can't see bolt on thing working, because as far as I know, you need a BB handset for that to work. VC are going to make tons of bucks from guys going over their 250mb limit and paying R1.50 a mb thereafter.

I was speaking to a friend with an HTC and he did a bolt onto his contract .. well, he might have not known what I was talking about and just said yes .. but, well, it might be possible.
 
Gee! Some people go on as if the Iphone have features we have never seen before! They only re-invent thinks, like a hefty price for a large-ass smart phone. There are better, smaller and cheaper smart phones, that is much more flexible. But I guess its the phone for the go with-the-flow idiot. Also remember that there is really no such thing as a Google phone. Android is an operating system for a phone. the same for windows mobile and Symbian. What can any of these phones do? I can "google" on at least my last 3 phones over at least the last 5 years. What I love about the Symbian OS, is that its the most popular. There is countless free apps. There are many good apps from google as well! It is also very stable. And its been around for while now. But I look forward in seeing more of Android. The fact that its open means a lot. The fact that its "google", make it being noticed by the guy on the street.

noooooo, that sucks. that means its R7000 for an 8gb? Damn, i shudv bought one while vodacom were still sellin em
