iPhone 3G pricing details

For me I would like to see a 500MB data package on the iPhone. That should be great for browsing; watching a few youtube videos and getting attachments for my important mail.

Not being able to use the iphone as a modem really sucks! 250MB should be more than enough for reading emails and surfing the occasional web site, maybe even download a few apps/iTunes now and again. I used to have 500MB on my tytn and it would have been a complete waste if I did not have the ability to use it as a tethered modem. On the other side, I only had 2GB storage space…

What screen/back protector thing would anyone recommend?

You can use it as a modem. There was an app in Appstore that allowed you to do this, but currently removed. If your phone is jailbroken you can also use 3rd party apps to tether the phone (the term for using phone as dial up).

250Mb is simply not enough. As vodacom3G says that you wont be reading attachments or anything on the phone then it just proves that they really didnt even look at what the phone can do. What a laugh as usual, thanks Vodacom for reminding us what country we are staying in.
 
pookster phone those minkeys before you go up there they never got stock of anything your best bet will either pinetown or pavillion

Oh well - I tried to get one but as I has have no debt and do not have any store cards I was declined so I am going to keep my R14,000(or give it to MTN who will give me a contract). Thanks Vodacom you just lost another customer....
 
hell no got myself a Touch Diamond last week thanks, waiting for my E71 9th October then HTC will go to the wife.

I disagree, in fact the 250mb is probably the main reason I won't be going anywhere near Vcoms offer.

The iPhone has youtube and googlemaps plus mobile safari (which trust me: can be used effectively for extensive surfing) add to that MobileMe and the plethora of social networking applications...

In answer to your question: I think 250mb is way too low, if my 1st gen iPhone is anything to go by I'd say one could easily bust a gig on the 3G in a month.
For R450 per month I'd want a gig to begin with (unlimited would be better that way all I experience as a customer is delight as opposed to fretting about if I'm going onto out of bundle rates) and a lower out of bundle rate, the minutes and sms are fair I suppose but the data is a deal-breaker.
