I knew it! Now Cell C must just get in on the act.
If nothing else this will help drive the price of the handset down, IMHO, as MTN has historically maintained lower handset price points when compared to Vodacom.
Vodacom losing its exclusivity is however not such a big deal as it is for Carriers in other countries, like the US, as our iPhones (and most other phones) are not carrier locked. I used an iPhone from Vodacom on MTN for a long time.
I am more looking forward to the impending "offer war", as it were. I mean, come on, 350mb of bundled data on a device where any worthwhile app weighs in at over 15mb? And lets not even touch on youtube etc. I believe the carrier who comes to the party with a unlimited data offering, much in line with Blackberry BIS, is going to come out the clear winner in this fight!
The only reason they can offer unlimited data on blackberry is because the browser and apps are seriously lame.
its still a sweet phone.

Please go back under the bridge
Now MTN clients will only be able to get reception when they are within 20 m of the base station![]()
You have obviously been living under a rock. Now the media hype has died down, and extended real-life tests have been done, the October edition of T3 magazine (UK) says that the issue was "grossly overstated", and that their test unit of their iPhone 4 has never dropped a call, not one, no matter how they hold the phone. It has also shown better reception than most other phones they have tested, and in their top 5 smart-phone listings, the iPhone 4 is firmly in first position.

Ill be waiting for Vodacom to bring it out, NO way I would switch just to get it cheaper or sooner!!
