I guess they are just pandering to their market. If they rated the iphone as something other than exceptional, they are pretty much going to lose a large chunk of their readers who are Apple fanboys. Apple buyers (general) seem to have less discrimination in terms of quality and the different features and just want the new idevice (the US is a perfect example of that) so they pretty much want the reviews to re-affirm their devotion to Apple and not for an honest grilling.
Its a great phone on paper no doubt but I would like to see the general reviews once its been released and tested by the broader population, especially those who switch between Android and Apple phones.

I truly do believe that it's the best smartphone in the world and ever. But there is definitely also a narrowing of the gap between it and the competitors. They exceeded my expectations though, and then some.
