News at 11: People realize they can pre-order what they want to buy. Records set as more people realize this.

Maybe this is the real reason for an autumn release - queuing in the US. Summer is too hot and winter too cold.

The fact that the figures are compared directly means that they are like for like. Otherwise it would be shoddy journalism.

So you just assumed that it wasn't shoddy journalism? Unfortunately if you follow their chain of links you find out that the 50m number comes from a "unscientific Reuters poll".

The thing to keep in mind when Apple's competitors boast about numbers is that none of them release any real numbers with their financial reports. As always, I wonder why that may be.
 
The 26mil figure quoted is already flawed by Apple's own reports. I'm not that surprised that Samsung phones outsell iPhones in totality though - there's only about 500 of them in the market at any one time.

Hahahaha, still pathetic with more than 600 000 android devices activated every day. You might think this is nokia etc losing ground, but the fact is that it is apple too. In our office which had 8 apple users, 3 have already capitulated to Android with another 2 concidering it. I know this is not proper marker reasearch, but I figure this is a trend i see unfolding in front of my eyes.

Personally don't give a f uck who is migrating to or from Android/Apple.Don't need any market numbers either to validate my purchase of an iphone
