The 6 Plus is definitely my next phone, but I'll hang on for midway through next year. Prices should be a lot better by then.

The Apple Watch is stunning? Hmmm... that's debatable.

I think it is. The video footage of it is very compelling. It's clearly been laboured over in a way that none of the current smartwatches have. The animations of the apps on there are very slick, very highly worked over.

Completely agree. It looks like an awesome piece of kit.

Correction - the marketing has been laboured over.

I still like it though, if only because it's going to push the smart watch scene forward in a big way.

Great. So now we can have a watch that also runs out of power by 2pm every day. I really don't get the appeal of a "smart watch" - since most of it's features are tethered to your phone, why not just pick up your phone?

Sure, but that doesn't mean that aesthetically, it is any more appealing than say the Moto 360. I appreciate the effort and clearly laboured over attention to detail present, but it doesn't look as good as the 360 does IMO.

What I feel Apple have done right, though, is in offering variants of the device in the manner that a watch maker would- different sizings and finishes, as well as complimentary straps. That was pretty brilliant (if obvious to every other smartwatch manufacturer out there), and again just an example of Apple paying attention to the details that matter.

Isn't that the case with just about any design of anything?

Of course. Just saying, that I don't find it particularly stunning.

The 360 does look good but it has a big chunk missing from the bottom and it's huge on the wrist. It's certainly not some triumph of design. The Watch does look better to me at least. http://www.apple.com/watch/gallery/ I'm quite partial to the stainless steel strap with butterfly enclosure but I'd be happy to wear any of these. Actually I'd be happy to wear a 360 as well.

Mostly it's the software that impressed me. The navigation of it, the solidity of the apps, etc.

Not saying that it is, but it is the best looking, overall. I would've preferred a slightly thicker bezel around the watch to accommodate the display drivers, and ensure a fully rounded screen, but it's fantastic enough as it is.

The Watch will grow on me, this I know. Inherent quality and attention to detail do that.

EDIT: No, it's still ugly to me (when compared to the 360). Also, it reminds me of the 4th gen iPod. I'm also worried that the gloss metal / gold body will be very prone to scuff marks and the like.

Sorry, Motorola wins this round. Let's see how gen 2 does.

Mostly it's the software that impressed me. The navigation of it, the solidity of the apps, etc.

It's feature rich in a way that Samsung have been criticised for previously. Hopefully, they tone it down in the production models and keep the very good navigation front and centre.

Watch seems too busy to me. Who would want to spend so much time fiddling on their watch?

Having said that I haven't worn a watch for years now as I don't see the point/use.

As for the iPhones, pretty much went according to the "leaks".

Those antenna bands are unsightly! I just don't know how those were signed off on??!!

Also find the 4.7 a little underwhelming.

OIS is HUGE and I would have loved that feature to be available on the 4.7. I'm unsure on the ram. Is it 1gb/2gb, 4.7/5.5 or both 2gb?

PPI on the 4.7 basically the same as 5s, also find that a little disappointing.

5.5 is too big for me but that is definitely the model to get. No 32gb also seems surprising to me. That has historically always been my go to model.

Anyway...

I also don't see the point in having the watch. I wear a watch, but it's to tell them time and to compliment my clothes...
