iPhone Called Failed problem on Vodacom

Just got back from the Vodashop...and....IT WORKED!!
I am very happy that this issue is finally resolved...SIM swap was instant and only cost R60. I dont even get a call failure message at all anymore! I hope this helped some members on this board who have had the same irritating problem with their iphones

yeah i think it might be the stealthsim...

Yes, it is the steath SIM. Restore your iphone in itunes to 1.1.4, and then use Ziphone 2.6 to jailbreak, unlock, and activate for any carrier (all in advanced options tab). After that you should have it working again

Awesome!
thanks guys!!!

I'll get me a 64k soon :)

So just be sure, this will put an and to the call failed message on first dial right?

Unfortunately it wont put a stop to call failed when dailing...i occasionally have been getting the error, but retrying makes the call go through. Small trade-off, but i'm glad i can make and receive calls again

Awwww nooooooo....i thought it fixed the call failed error.. :(
i was always able to make and receive calls but get this call failed rubbish and after i retry it went through..

I thought 64k gets rid of that message entirely :(

bummer.,...

Yeah, no point in getting a new sim then...
Vodacom need to sort this out!

ya, i spoke too soon. i still get the call failed error, but not every time i try to make a call anymore. works first time about 50% of the time but i still get that damned call failed error every now and then! grrrrrrrr! i honestly hate vodacom. any way you can end a contract before it matures?

This is why every phone model needs to undergo a 'test' on their network before it gets launched to the market.

After my 64k swap I must say the call failed error doesn't come up as often as it used to with the 32k.

Vodacom honestly need to get this problem fixed.

Why should Vodacom do testing on a phone (the iphone) that's not sold in South Africa and probably not ICASA certified?

Well apparently vodacom will lunch the iphone with 3G (after its world lunch) in south africa sometime this year...so hopefully we wont have to deal with this for much longer :)
