Is it worth getting ADSL

My ADSL has actually been very fast and stable the last few months, I think its because most people have been moved to Fibre or LTE. I will use it while it last since Telkom has advised that it will shut down adsl in the near future.
 
ADSL is still being offered but if there is already fiber or LTE option in your area and the minute there is an ADSL outage or fault Telkom will discontinue it. Happened in our area, luckily we have fiber so just had to move over.
 
Well.. acording to cybersmart.. there is no telkom infrastructure for Adsl in my area:unsure::ROFL:.. which is BS..

I got a new line earlier this year.. April it was... New as in new Telkom account from scratch. Stil had to pay a deposit.
This was after the Cool Ideas / Octofail fiasco I endured.

Outage due to theft? In my area there is no Fibre, but they recently rolled out LTE, no more than 4 months ago. I applied for a Telkom post-paid line, paid the deposit and am still awaiting them to come and do the installation due to their ineptitude of allocating me an incorrect BAN number for the deposit.

However, there still do offer DSL subject to the limitations stated above. Where I live it is not profitable for them to install fibre as it is a remote and rural area. So where I am situated, DSL is going to be the mainstay for a while.
