I am surprised that you sell PC's and you say that. On the AMD true clock speed, see for example:

where it shows an AMD 64 3500 has a clock speed of 2200Mhz.

And note, a Centrino CPU chip is a Pentium M, not a Pentium 4 M.

Right I ran the test and the 2A got its little intel ass owed by the 2Ghz P4m. So im sorry about that, i was wrong.

but if you got a 1.5 centrino that = a 2.8 p4 u can the the speed and x it by 1.9 and there you have the equal

Killadoob i agree 100% but if you dont know then dont go telling everyone different, Person takes it a bit far. But also as a PC retailer surely that is something he should know

The Pentium M is one component of the Centrino package, consisting of a CPU, chipset and WLAN module. That way Intel can sell more chipsets and WLAN modules. :)

Note, we are now in the second generation of Centrinos, while that article is still about the first generation ones.

@ Person: I want to say sorry. I came over a bit strong. I love my Centrino machine, so get unhappy when anybody says it is slow or compare it with a P4. :-)

umm yes so the cpu is called pentium m
like i said times the p4's by 1.9 and thats the equivelant

so 2.0 centrino is a 3.8 p4

or is = to anyhow
 
Maybe a bit risky to use an equals sign, since it depends on what you are running. Also, from my experience, the factor is more around 1.5, but varies a lot depending on what is being run.

im amazed that amd got no laptops

i think intel give the laptop companies good deals
because amd is alot cooler perfect for laptops
 
I believe AMD still needs some work on the mobile CPU side, which is why the Pentium M is king of the mobile environment at the moment. But, I have not followed this very closely, so cannot give many details.

Somewhere i read that you should basicaly add 1.2 to the Ghz of the Pentium M and then you get more or less the speed of the P4 that would match it, but like gkm said, it depends on what your doing, its the same with AMDs i guess.
