If you're looking for a case for your iPad, check out Woolworths. I saw some brilliant netbook sleeves in there today, would adapt nicely to an iPad I think. Price was around R90!! Different designs on them too.

So do you guys still think its worth getting the current Ipad now?
Considering i WONT use any of the cameras on the new one.

Sure is if your main use will be Media, apps and reading

I don't care how good the iPad 2 is "going to be" (pure speculation) whenever it arrives - the current iPad is awesome. :)

once you have an iDevice its very hard to go back. been on iDevices since the first iPhone, and cannot go to any other device.

Very similar to all the other honeycomb tablets - 1280x800 10.1" screen yeah. The selling point is the keyboard dock with extended battery. Personally I really don't dig Android, and I find it actually worse on tablets than on phones.

I'm constantly fighting off either my wife or my daughter for use of the iPad. It's gotten to the point where I'm seriously considering getting another.

Just read this on Wired.com
"The PlayBook also faces challenges on the application front. The PlayBook launched with over 3,000 apps, far more than Google’s current number of tablet-optimized apps (around 250), as well as HP’s (about 300). Apple’s tablet app selection remains far ahead of the pack at around*100,000."

skip the ipad and get yourself a netbook. Cheaper and more useful.
Ask yourself what you intend using an ipad for. If you have to think hard to find reasons...

Interestingly enough, I was going to do exactly this. Then I got an iPad instead, and am very glad I did :D

Nice thing about the iPad, is like other Apple products the resale value really holds up nicely. So if you decide you don't like it you can always sell it and get most of your money back. Netbooks - not so much!

Also decided to jump on the bandwagon and get a ipad, picking up later today. I know might be a bit late but for the main purpose of browsing and media it should be fine?
Dont need the front camera and the speed on 2 is improvement but not that big.

Happy with with ipad1?

The iPad1 is great! The iPad 2 speed bump is noticeable, but everything else is identical and still awesome - speakers, screen, build quality etc.

I've been temped several time and one time almost bought an ipad 2. Waiting for September to see if the iphone 5 and ipad 3 really materialise
