What difference does race make though? It's more about culture and many non-white people are brought up as westerners.

As an example Shaka Zulu the tv series was written, produced and directed by all white people. May have had something to do with the times but it also shows that content production can be colour agnostic.

More like aimed at urban audiences. Yes some sitcoms do look aimed at specific race groups as well as shows like Empire etc.
 
It would be like black or white English speaking individuals trying to make a sitcom about every day family life in a Afrikaans circle of family and friends. It won't work.

Cultural differences should never be under-estimated.

That's like saying only convicts can make movies or series based on prison environments or it wont work. People have successfully been making movies and series for years, on subjects that they have no first hand involvement in.

Bottom line is don't advertise that you want males / females / white / black / etc.
Just advertise and decide on merit and if you think the white / black / male / female candidates can do the job the best, pick them.

The idiocy is that this actual has no relevance to race - a lot of us whities don't watch soapies or sitcoms either. So I am going to show up to this interview and flunk it despite being white in any case. If they have to mention the reason the person needs to be white, they might as well just mention what background they need to apply for the same amount of space.

Affirmative action is already insulting, ie the only reason we need a black candidate is because we need tax discount, but at the end of the day a job is a job and we all need one
 
1000's of jobs advertised daily with prerequisite of black only (oe least no whites to apply as they wont be considered). NO debate or argument from the normal culprits.
ONE job get advertised for White only with reason and the whole South Africa is in turmoil, even some MyBB members. So frecking disgusting, aint you ashamed of yourselfs?
