We are looking for a passionate developer to join us and to create, build and enhance features for our platform that is under active development. We want someone keen to make a real impact on the business and experience a steep learning curve and grow alongside the business and technical assets.
Offering: up to R45 000 (depending on experience)
Requirements
Experience building Web applications with Ruby On Rails 2 years+
Full-stack developer
Experience of agile practices such as scrum, pair-programming and TDD
You are familiar with technologies including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, REST, jQuery
A tertiary qualification in disciplines such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering or Maths-related is a definite advantage
Must be adaptable to change and the fast pace of a young and dynamic company.
A self-starter who is willing to take a task from gathering requirements to deployment and maintenance
Comfortable working independently or with others
Linux/Mac proficiency
Can communicate effectively in writing and orally
Can comfortably work outside the boundaries of Rails (SQL, basic system administration, etc.)
Be experienced with the command line.
Willing to work on frontend UIs and web pages as well as core backend systems
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Rails code
Develop core backend systems as well as beautiful user facing interfaces
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
Adding features, extending capabilities, and actually delivering working and fully tested software
