Nice site, how do you find developing with Joomla? Do you find it easy or difficult?

I am currently busy redesigning our site with Joomla 1.5 and its great. I looked at 1.0 a while back, and 1.5 is a much cleaner interface!

Anyone know of an easy way of including a flash swf file in an article? Been googling for a while with no luck, there's some 1.5 modules, like Handy SWF module but that does not want to install (no joomla xml file found)
Mosmedia seems dead - no support.
I tried to insert the swf with the editor, but the swf does not play.

I've been using it for about a year, it was a bit hard to get into, but if you have knowledge of the basics roots of web development e.g. html, javascript and a bit of programming logic you'll learn it quite quickly. You wont even need to code anything as long as you know what features you want and what plugins can do what you looking for. I've made about 14 sites with joomla
 
I'm also busy making a new company website with Joomla... got a lot to learn... glad to have a local resource.
 
It looks interesting, came with a website package I bought in the UK - for 22 quid a year I get unlimited space and band, ten mysql - stats, shopping carts etc - for about the same price in SA you get a basic ten meg site - so it looks like it will be time to get into the jolly joomla
 
Because of this thread... I downloaded Joomla... and am now hooked on it!

Now.. I have a problem..

The module: 'Popular' is nice as it shows the contents with the most hits...

But I need a module similar, except for links..

I want my links menu to be arranged by their popularity!

Is this possible?

I have been searching everywhere! :(
 
I would say so..... I ended up trying both out.. and 1.5 is great :)

Just dont like that you cant delegate certain sections/categories to people for editing..

Otherwise its brilliant :)
 
Make sure your Joomla is updated as I got hit by iframe vulnerability
and please make a backup of MYSQL and Joomla directory backup.
Was off for a few days embarassing.
My site running older version of Joomla need to upgrade.

Any ideas how to not make image URL available as you can right click
and "pinch my webcam images". Africam.com (use drupal) you cannot
copy their images as it is contained within the cam.php page

You can easily bypass the right click ;-)
