@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

For what it's worth I haven't had a day's trouble since I signed up last week. All videos, be it YouTube or Netflix load instantly with no buffering - I'm on a 4Mb line btw

Oh well... Our interwebs may be faulty but at least we have the mountain

try crystal web, if your thing breaks you can request their support staff wash your car and I heard something about free biltong (@crystalweb pls make this happen ily)

In all seriousness, I've moved from Vox to CW and I haven't had to change accounts or even look at my PfSense box since the start of the month. Besides Telkom breaking my line, it's been butter smooth.

Well all know or should know by now that it might not be Vox that is delaying a upgrade but might be Telkom. Look at the Afrihost situation when CPT also battled with the IPC being congested.

It suck and I'm glad its not affecting me but yeah its the story of the internet. I do feel that Vox might have some obligation to credit the affected customers for the inconvenience and poor performance especially if you are on Fatpipe because that is sold as a unshaped product

MyBB bombed out now on Vox. I've just set a permanent route on my pfSense box now so that MyBB goes through my Telkom account.

This account is now the worst account I've had in a while, even Afrihost was better than this. Have hardly downloaded anything before midnight this month and now when I want something it's going at 600KB/sec on my 40Mbit line.

Why is it so hard to find an ISP that just works! Maybe I should just go back to OpenWeb :p

As long as people keep recommending ISP's, that's where the herd normally ends up. That's why I was trying to follow the rules of fight club.

Seems their T&C's have changed, saw it in another thread and battling to quote it here

Maybe somebody from Vox can explain what the difference is between Fat Pipe consumer and Fat Pipe business. When you click the links both of them go to the same page with the same prices. Yet the terms and conditions state they are different products:

6. FAT PIPE
6.1. Subscribers can request cap adjustments should they reach their cap.
6.2. The supplier reserves the right to shape usage.
6.3. The subscriber can roll over unused data for the duration of the contract. On
cancellation, any unused data will be forfeited.
6.4. The subscriber will be billed for usage per MB at the out of bundle rate.
...
8. FAT PIPE BUSINESS
8.1. Fat Pipe Business is an unshaped service.
8.2. The uncapped service will only allow one concurrent login. ? What ? What Uncapped Service?

Hey guys,

Few things to touch on:

1) MyBB and DNS time outs: Didn't respond because it is not something I can assist with. This is not a Vox problem.
2) CPT IPC: Last I heard, we were waiting for Telkom on this.
3) T&C for Products: They exist online, I cannot talk about them as I'm not involved, sorry!
4) Shaping: There are two types of accounts, one is a shaped account and then other is an unshaped account. If the network is congested, shaping happens naturally. Here's a picture.. hopefully it will help.

I'll push for IPC info again today and hopefully have some good news for the CPT guys. Zoid ... 40mb VDSL and on Bolt on.. such a life!

Regards,
Chris

Thanks for the update!

40Mbit bolt-on is sweet, but would be sweeter when the IPC issues are fixed :D

I've been easy on you guys this month, only done 100Gig this month so far! :D

Hopefully they stampede to CW and Paul and DJ can sort them out.

This is still the best deal in town for me

50 gig + unlimited 6 to 6

Perfect product combo for me.

unfortunately I had to contact VOX support six times in two weeks. when I switch over from one account to bolt on to the fatpipe I've got problems. every time the same problem. ai.

Can't help but laugh at this "fight club"thing. When you think about it, that's actually hoping that your ISP fails as you don't want it to take on customers.

haha exactly :P We want to keep the hogs out so we get quali bandwidth :P

That was never going to happen though especially when they actually started to advertise the 1TB FREE FatPipe data with Samsung TV's. That pretty much blew fight club rules out of the window. I wonder if they are making good money with that partnership because 1TB data is a lot of data to give away for free just for marketing.....
