@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

They must be upgrading here in CT. When i Irace my pings to their european server is normally a stable 160-180ms, last 2 nights well over 400, but only from 8pm till about 11pm, time i normally race haha.
Anyway hope they making progress, not to worried about the downloading but more my pings......;)

Sorry, that would be congestion.

I also wouldn't hold much hope in them pleasing the R59 folk and upgrade the IPC.

Mission accomplished in that they have a fully utilised network now.

If it starts congesting during business hours and it starts affecting people that pay real money, then something will be done IMHO.

Yea i do have the 59 Bolt but also a 75gig Fatpipe to ensure the best possible gaming experience, hence unthrottled, unshaped etc. I hope u not telling me that this bolt uncapped add-on is effecting my normal fatpipe connection :p

If u say this is a congestion problem, what connection would i have to get to keep my pings always lo, a 40mVDSL ?
Anyway this does more look like a vox network problem than a congested one, as in my case it happened recently and most clients complaining are from CT, i hope cross fingers :)

Well give it a try, sign up for a free 1GB WebAfrica account (or 2GB as it is 1+1 GB), then later tonight if (when?) it gets slow switch accounts and see whether your ping is any better. If so then it is ISP related. If not ten it is the exchange and even upgrading to a faster line won't help - unless you get moved to a different exchange.

@PsyClown - will do thx for tip :)
Reason why i think its ISP, is becuase it just happened recently and many people experiencing the problem are from CT, but different subs, me from Oranjezicht, there was someone from Tableview another from Goodwood if i recall.
I doubt there is a exchange problem all those suburbs....

Looks like these issues are starting to affect me during the day now too. Starting to see increased latency on my Vox FP account only.

Cmon Vox, sort your network out please. I'm tired of ISP hopping.

I also couldn't access mybb last night, had the same or similar issue twice before. Feels like a DNS issue as it was only mybb that was slow or timed out. Changed ISP's then it was fine.

Same here

Had to switch to 3G on phone and iPad to access MyBB.

On the up side, no problems getting to Blizzard server for Diablo 3 and Hearthstone

yea for some strange reason its not everything, for me blizzard, steam, and most Inter sites were perfect, myBB, iracing was crap though, specifically 8pm - 11pm past 2 nights.....

Maybe its the internet equivalent of an earthquake aftershock from all of last weeks celeb nudes :D

Are you the gambling type?

I dislike saying this ... but "watch this space" ...

When I said congestion I meant on the Vox IPC in CT not your exchange. Only solution now would be to use a different backbone (Plugg or try 20GB capped from IC which is a good deal at the moment) during the times of slowness, I have great respect for IS, as they always seem to have a good handle on their network and very rarely let their network come to the point of high contention congestion.

I'm not but I like working internets, I'm one of the lucky ones that have FP+BO, and consider myself a considerate user where I mainly download overnight with browsing, a few YT vids, email and maybe that "proper/repack" when neccessary :)

So just don't let what's happening in CT happen with the jhb IPC :p

Also, why no mention on the DNS issues with mybb timing out? Last night was the 3rd time in as many days and is very annoying.

I don't believe it is a DNS issue. I tried changing DNS servers with no effect, looks like it's a routing issue - I posted this mtr last night showing where it's failing:

Code:
