I'd go with the Panasonic... hopefully it is less reflective. The 51D550 is very reflective - I owned one, and took it back, and bought an LCD.

D7000 has local dimming which will definitely provide superior PQ, otherwise mainly the cosmetic difference I think (edge thin bezel/stand).

UA46D6000 as it is already goes for around R12k, so R2k more is well worth it!

Cool. It's not for me. My parents just bought it. Demo model for R14k from Hifi Corp. They took an extended warranty just to be safe.

I told them to check it properly for damages first. I'm on the other side of the country so the only input I have is over the phone.

If you bought any of the TVs enjoy it. Otherwise i think is better if you look for something else maybe. Both TVs are not that great. I had that Samsung and it's purely crap TV. Panasonic that you want is very low level Panasonic ridiculously overpriced. The panel on the Panasonic is 13th generation panel. Current is 15th. The filter is only a mono filter compare to Infinite Black Pro/Ultra filters on higher models. Focused Field Drive is 600 instead of 2500. Contrast is 4000 instead of 6-7000 and on an on. Don't waste your i guess hard earned cash on such outdated and overpriced peace of junk. Hope that helps.

I bought a PS51D450 last weekend, I mean at 5999 who could resist? During the day the reflections are quite bad, You need to angle the blinds just so in order to see. But boy oh boy, at night, with the lights turned low, displaying 720p content, this thing just blows my mind!

Not sure about the best TV for gaming, but here are the cheapest specials you can find for big screens right now:

Samsung 46" (117cm) Full HD LCD TV for R5,999 (last day today)
Samsung HD Ready Plasma TV-129cm for 6499,95 (until 7 May)

I'm confused. There are two prices and two products mentioned.

Neither of the TVs are advertised as 3D.

129cm is 51", not 43".

PS51D450 at R8,999 is a rip. So is PS43D450 at R6,499.

PS51D450 at R6,499 is average.

Thanks for pointing this out - there's is a transcription mistake in our catalogue. The correct measure for the specified TV screen is 43".

Got myself the Panasonic TH-P50U30Q over the weekend for a fraction of the price Audiovision has it advertised.

Looks great. Now to put the screen through its paces.

What did you pay for it?
 
Yes I know. Audiovision has it on special for R11999. Couldn't believe it when I got the deal! The place is called P&G Insurance. They do mostly insurance claims, but do have some extra stock of plasma / led tv's.
