LCD and Plasma Bargains and Discussions thread

That is the dilemma, you can get the newer PS51E550 for R6499 which I suspect is worth it.

I'm battling to justify R1500 more, 9 inches less and one year worse warranty for the Panasonic

You serious? Where? Dion wired has it on special for R11k.

Eh? Where can I get a PS51E550 for R6499?

Never mind :D

Embarrassing typos not withstanding, is the 43 inch Panasonic worth R1500 more than the PS51E450? I know they are not direct spec compeditors but both would suit me rather nicely and the prices not that different

Is that the FHD model?

I see that catsdigital has the Samsung 51" 51E550 Plasma for R9,960.00.

I just want to find out how reflective the screen is as there is some direct sunlight where my tv stands.
The one that should be catching your eye is the LG 50PZ950 for under R9K (either major clearance or typo?).

Thats LG's top of the line 2011 Plasma with all the bells & whistles incl THX Certified, SmartTV, TruBlack filter, TruMotion (100Hz engine), Magic Motion remote etc.

Good price, just a pity it is active 3d.

Am in market for another panel in my place. Budget: 9000. Uses: Dstv, gaming, Internet browsing, movies, Skype etc.

Pref: high refresh rate, fhd, must play mkv, and pref 46/47"s or bigger. 3d is not a must, but would be cool to have

Any suggestions? Any specials out there which fit requirements?

Room is dark, curtains in bedroom are double layered. No sun comes through. Viewing distance, about 3 meters+

Hi,
Bought the Samsung 51E450 today. What an incredible TV! It looks absolutely fantastic and has an image that words can't describe.

However, my eyes were bigger than my head, and didn't realise that it would be totally overkill for my lounge. For my seating position (less than 2m), the 51 inch is a tad too big.

TV sells for anything from R6500 to R7500. I have used it for 10 mins (so its basically brand new), and will sell for R6300. If anyone in interested, please PM me.

Please note: It is the E series ie - BRAND NEW 2012 MODEL with 'REAL BLACK' technology

Thanks!

Can't you return it for something else?

Would love to, but the store will only credit me, not give me a cash refund. So would rather sell the TV and then purchase the equivalent 43 inch plasma.

Don't they sell the 43"?

Doesn't CPA mean 2 weeks to get your money back?
