Game has the LG FHD 3D LED TV-47" (TV 47LM5800) for R9700... Tempting

Very very very tempting but I see LG has released a new smart tv. Anyone have any experience with the new smart tv from LG? Dion wired sells them at R10k for the 40"

They also have the Samsung UA46ES6200 with a blu-ray player and three bd titles 4 pairs of 3d glasses for 11699. If I dont find anything at the H&G I am probably going with that although the UA46ES6600 is the better tv (micro dimming)

No substitute for doing it the proper way, go evaluate them first hand.

I assume you don't buy a car without first test driving it yourself (and a couple of comparable ones).

I hear you. I am referring to some way to identify (on the set), that is actually is 100 Hz instead of 50 Hz. Like with my 47LK530. I am still trying to get it to say "100 Hz". Blue-ray, HD channels and BoxOffice all display "50 Hz" when I press the info button?!

I have last night changed by "True Motion" setting to highest, still no difference. I guess I will have to go through the manual or do some searching on this issue. I cannot actually find a setting to say "change from 50 to 100 Hz".

Guys, please note I am a novice HD TV user, no flaming please.

TVs only display the frequency of the input signal (pre signal processing), so whether you have TruMotion enabled or not, the TV will say 50Hz.

The only way to see it in action is watch scenes with lots of motion. Use your PVR's rewind function to watch a particular scene with TruMotion enabled & disabled, checking for differences in blur (smudged, trailing edges) & judder (stepping movement of the whole screen when horizontally panning).

Good deal that, my 46D6000 on its own, sans glasses or anything cost me that a little less than a year ago.

My wife and son went off to buy the Samsung 43" E450 today for 5k and came back with a UA40ES6200R for 10k.

Any comments on this tv? I love the SMART tv with wifi and all the rest, but I won't see it until I get back to SA in August and would like to know is it twice the tv for twice the price?

Also, where is the best place to buy more active 3d glasses? They seem like they cost a fortune :wtf:

As I mentioned earlier Game have the UA46E6200 (46 inch!) + BD Player + BD Titles + 3D glasses for 11699.

can you return lol.

Lol. I saw the deal earlier and thought the same thing, but 46" is too big for us. I'd also already used up all of my powers of persuasion getting her to upsize from a 32" like the last one we had, so no go.

Nah, we all know how prices drop and you have to take the plunge and buy something sometime. That's the way the tech world rolls and whether it takes a week, a month or a year for the item to fall it price, fall in price it most definitely will :)

Yep. I know the feeling. I paid 24K for home and 3 months later the same tv was 16K which we purchased for work.
