We'll need more info than that. Intended use, room brightness when watching, does direct sunlight fall on the TV area, picture quality vs size, etc.

I know he will go for the "size" option. That room doesnt really get any direct sun. I will forward the 60" option to him.

If he's anything like my friends he will just go out and buy an LED because that's the best... :erm:

Great, it's the best choice for picture quality. And the 60" can be had for around R15,000.

The worst thing he can do is walk into Game/Makro and judge TVs there. As the above post mentions, he will walk out with an LCD, thinking it's the best. Which is false.

Yes except the feet are black. They could not find a silver model. Neither could Kalahari confirm.

I had a Goldstar product many many years ago and that product made me so angry and the service I got back then was hideous. I said never again... Are LG products any good? How is their support? Or is it better to just stick with Samsung and the likes? I don't mind paying premium for name brands I trust.

I don't think there's anything wrong with LG, I do prefer Samsung and Sony TVs though.

Service seems to be luck of the draw between any brand. I guess since it's all outsourced to various companies, there's no real guarantee.
