LCD and Plasma Bargains and Discussions thread

A few years ago they had an LG plasma on special that I wanted to buy, called them and spoke to the guys in the TV department.
They said they will get a quote for delivery to jhb but I said Ill try and get a price match first this side. Got ti for the same price at hifi corp

Save hyper is a really large store in PMB. Been there for quite some time now (at least 4 years). Have bought from them before when we lived in PMB. Should be no issues.

Good to know, on my phone so haven't checked. Imagine shipping costs to be a bit pricey.

Groupon deal not on anymore?

Shipping is free. I spoke to a guy that deals with the online orders and shipping . He confirms shipping is free of charge

I guess you have nothing to lose then. Your warranty would be through an agent in your city/area, so you'll never have to interact with the store after you've purchased (and hopefully not with the warranty agent either).

I think it's looking good for you. I would do anything for a 60" plasma (so would anyone who knows a thing or two!). :)

I bought this TV a month ago and it is amazing! Go get it while it's hot.

What is your viewing environment like? Distance from TV and light?

I have found Plasma blacks can look grey in lighter viewing environments. Kind of opposite of LCD issue.

Same here. Have the bucks, but must service my car and buy paint for the house!

Ha ha ha. Selling some goodies before I can go ahead. Telling my brain to act grown up when my heart says, go ahead and buy the nice big screen TV :what:

If there is free delivery, I would go with the TV. If the car breaks down, you at least have something to keep you company

Hey guys.
I'm looking for a decently priced 50-55" TV. I prefer Samsung

Been hoping for another special on the UHD 50", but no luck so far.

Any suggestions?

If you look 6 posts up you will see a great special

For the plasma one? I was seriously close to getting it, but had a friend who was going on about how I would regret buying a plasma TV. That they burn images in, they don't last long, they use more electricity etc etc. made me worried.

Put them on here so that we can educate them. :D

Ha ha ha. True. I did try, but my arguing skills are a little lacking. Maybe you can educate me ?
