So my 18 month young Sammy plasma is broken...

Panel is bjorked, no replacements plasma panels still in production so Samsung will replace the set. With what is the burning question?

Check out dolbys post on avfotums. They offered him an upgrade.

Thanks, sent him PM.

When my Sammy 51e550 plasma got stolen, the insurance came back and stated that recommended replacement was the 55ku7000 model.

That's a decent bump up!! Hoping for something similar! There not all that many 60" options.

UA60JS7200 or 60KU7000?

Won't say no to either...

When my 64F8500 plasma broke, Samsung swapped it for the 65HU8700 at no additional charge - at least a 10 grand benefit to me comparing prices at the time. I really wanted to stick with plasma and liked the F8500 very much, but in the end (yes even though it is curved) the newer UHD screen was a big step up.

There was a catch... it took 2 months of pain dealing with Samsung to eventually get the replacement TV.

Well, they offering me a UA50KU7000KXXA... It's a 50" set! My faulty set is a 60". So a down size?!! Not impressed...

Which is a 10k TV? It's also UHD, not sure what you're plasma was though

Tell them that you bought the TV for the size. 4k was available at the time when you originally bought the TV, but you have no 4k content to watch.
I'm sure that they will come to the party.

I would not accept that.

But like I said, I had to fight for months before they eventually sorted me out. Put me off dealing with Samsung and have not bought another Samsung product since (which I know I will have to do eventually, because I like their TVs :( )

They basically gave me 3 options:

1.) Refund
2.) UA50KU7000KXXA
3.) UA55K6500BKXXA

I said no to 2 and 3 and asked for a UA55KU7000 55” UHD, to which they responded 'no, and we've decided on option 1'. Refund incoming...

Fair to say more of an indictment on Samsung's s hitty quality than plasmas per say?

I'm surprised you could get a plasma even 18 months ago. What model is it?
