You worry to much. Take you quote to Game and ask a salesman for their price. Once he gives it to you then take out your quote and look at it. Tell him ok and that you can find it cheaper else where. If he tell you that they can beat the price then show him the quote. Let him call the other store and ask for your particular model.
If he queries about being in a different area tell him you have brother who lives there and comes every two weeks for business. You're expecting him next Wednesday anyway. If you couldn't find it at a better price here, he would buy there and bring to you. Warranty isn't a problem as the other store said you can take to any authorised repair centre in SA.

I was going to cry and/or start breaking things. But that script sounds better. Thanks man, will post how it goes.
 
Got the Samsung LA40D550 from Game Rosebank for R4500. They also had the LA40D503 at the same price.

Don't actually know but could find out when i'm allowed back in their home:). Anyway one of the comments he made was that my panel didn't show that blurry motion when watching fast moving action.
He said that his actually gave him headaches sometimes. He actually brought some movies along to check the differences between our panels. One of the programmes we looked at was a doccie about ocean hunters and he commented about much nicer it looked on the plasma than on his lcd, although when he looked at flat panels in store, the lcd looked much brighter. Together with the salesman's "expertise" he decided to go with the lcd.
I also pointed him to these forums and like me, became a bit more educated in the ways of the flat panels.
Now to get his master to allow me back into their home (and that's going to take some doing).:)
 
PC Zone have the Acer H274HL 27" Full HD LED LCD for R2599?

How good is this monitor?
 
Went down to Kenilworth Game but they didn't have any in stock. Doh. They're getting more next week but hopefully the House and Home special will be on.

My friend and I both got ours from Canal Walk branch. You should call the branches first to see who has stock.

As far as I know there is no "panel lottery" with Samsung plasmas... Only their LCDs. So I've never researched plasma panel differences.
 
When I purchased my ps51d450 I noticed that it only came with one usb port. So in order to attach more than one usb device, I tried attaching a 4 port usb hub, and it actually worked when I added 2 external drives and a usb memory stick.
This morning I attached my phone to the hub to charge it and I discovered quite remarkably that the Samsung plasma actually reads my Android phone. It sees all the folders and I can view any movies, photos and mp3 files that's on it. This discovery made for quite a pleasant surprise.
 
Awesome, what brand of 4 port hub is that?

So within the USB option it lists the 4 sub-devices so u can choose one? One at time only?

It's little Mecer 4 port, nothing fancy and I'm sure it will work with any brand. And yeah you see the different usb devices. You just select the one you want and enter on it. What surprised me as well also was that I entered a folder on one of the drives and it took a while to open. I then proceeded to remove the drive from the hub and in doing so, the tv actually hung. I couldn't exit or go to any other menus, just like a stupid Windows pc. Anyway I had to pull the power out at the wall socket and switch the tv back on.
 
No 32D550 special at House and Home this week. Canal Walk doesn't have stock. Kenilworth was going to get stock this week so will try them again in a few days.
