LCD and Plasma Bargains

I would imagine things have improved since then. I use my LA32C550 for high level PC gaming (Starcraft 2 and Black Ops) without any input lag/latency/refresh problems etc.

Plasmas do have the lowest input lag/latency/fastest refresh...

Can't remember the place, has been mentioned a few times in this thread. Maybe someone can mention it again. If in stock you could take their price to Game and Game would beat it. R6,500 is still an absolute bargain though...

Apparently they have specials running from today till Sunday. The Samsung 40LAD550 LCD going for R5299.

Seems like a good price

In regards to the Samsung 40LAD550 does anyone know if a new Game is/has opened this weekend near Rosebank as I went to the opening of the new Game at Carnival mall and they had these going for R4500 about 3 weekends back. I spoke to a salesman at Game Boksburg this evening and he said the Rosebank opened today so there could be some good deals there if indeed it has opened

So I picked up the LA32d550 at House & Home for R3400. But now my question is how do I set this up on my pc? Do I need to pick up HDMI cables? Settings that I need to change on my pc or on the TV? I have a ATI5850 if that makes any difference. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah just be patient, the lady who helped me said that they are rotating between having samsung, LG and other promotions each week. I missed it the first time around too when it was R3300.

That was the LA40D501 IIRC. A diluted version of the 5 Series, e.g. with only 1 x HDMI and possibly no media playback.

The LA40D550 was on special at R4,999 about 2 months ago, as part of the Walmart deals.

I mentioned Hirsch, which he didn't know, but said to get a quote from them including delivery and they will beat it. So am going to email Hirsch to see if I can get them to do that.

Just to make sure, the LA32D550 has good media playback right? I'll be using that feature a lot so it's crucial.

I've never heard of the "included delivery" being a factor.

The only prerequisites IIRC are:

1) Shop is located in SA
2) Shop has stock

LA32D550 has good [HD] media playback. They really work brilliantly, even with NTFS-formatted external HDD's.
