LCD and Plasma Bargains

I know, but as I said even a 480i rip will look good on the two techs, animation doesn't really seem to gain any fidelity when the res is increased, you'd need to go for something with actual detail.
 
any one know any short 1080P content that I can download? less than 500MB preferably.

You actually won't be able to, especially with animation, a 480i rip of something animated will actually look good on both, though the LCD would have a slight edge due to it's brighter colours. Rather look for something else to test with.

+1 Anime is not the right choice if you want to compare 1080P to 720P unless you have an animated 1080P with loads of detail like '9'.
 
Didn't take my content yet but was just at House & Home and they have the 51D450 for R6989 and Cats have the 51D490 for R8689. Is that difference worth it for 3D? Going to take my flash tomorrow and see the 3D conversion.

Not "Ask every question known to mankind about TV's" thread. Seriously people, its not like MyBB is going to run out of space on the interwebs just because a few more threads pop up.

Hmmm so lets put up bargains on KAK tv's so the uninformed can buy them, I reckon it should be one thread. Not taking a stab at you just my opinion.

This whole plasma vs LCD thing is farkin irritating since it clogs up the thread and makes it difficult to actually find what you are looking for - bargains. Like I said, its really not that hard to move your mouse over to the "create new thread" button, and ask questions there. Or even read the plasma vs LCD thread that is even stickied for easy reference

+1, understand where Archer is coming from, but exactly why I say amalgamate them all into one - more people benefit from the discussions than those who want them separate.

Definitely not worth it. Then you may as well look at the PS51D550, 51" FHD/1080p 3D at R10,000.

All of benefit to potential buyers, buyers, and owners; who can step into this thread at any time and and ask about bargains and get the exact [same] info they need, regardless of what's going on.

Sticky'd thread is a relatively new thing. In fact it was set up to separate discussions (for the sake of people who want them separate :p). It didn't work, it doesn't work each time we try, hence we're back here.
 
ok... how about when people post bargains then they should use a bigger font, and make it red text? I am also finding it hard to wade thru all the debating posts...

I'm still on the fence w.r.t. plasma vs LCD vs LED, and I am just gonna buy the next thing around 40-43" in size that is around 5k in price! Preferably with decent media player :)

is it the Hisense TVs that come with 5 year warranty now? Just thinking out loud :p

Close the thread and re-open two new threads - one bargains and the other opinions.
 
Im also tired of looking for a TV. WE need one by this time next weekend, budget is around 7k, at most 8k.
I am not sold on the plasma thing because I want FHD for future use. Must have decent built in media player since it will primarily be used to series and movies. There will be football through HD PvR on wknds though :)
Recommendations? Otherwise I am seriously just gonna walk into hersches and buy whatever fits the budget
