Hi. Please ignore my last post. I think that the Netogy UPS100 Plus may do the job.

Not for load shedding, I have a proper Inverter for that, its meant for camping/outdoors.
As for holding up guess it all depends on what you wanna run on it.



Will have to tally up when done but trying to stick to around R5500 when done.

If you are trying to reduce costs then 240VDC (20 x12V batteries) works on electronics like computers and TV. I have tried this but switches tend to break so chopped DC then. I think it would work as well as a modified sine inverter.

240V DC to where?

The AC plug?

I guess you'll get half a sine wave or something like literally a half step DC signal on the other end.

Nah. It'll be 240V. But that's a bit terrifying. DC is scary.

But what can be powered with 240v Dc, baring low DC voltages 20v and below near everything runs off 240 AC and DC won’t get you anywhere with those devices because transformers and PWM supplies can only work with AC?

230VAC is the RMS value or dc equivalent. Actual peak to peak is + and - 310V. Computer and tv switch mode psu's are half wave rectified and so run at about 300VDC from 230VAC. They are usually rated to work from 90VAC to 265VAC.

I used this system for a few years because I was off grid and usually there was no generator at the smallholding. I would take the batteries to be charged from a plug point using this dangerous method. Disavantages of DC are a vga crt will tend to be quite green and it breaks the switches. Tried to repair the ups but no luck. Now I bought a nice sine wave inverter and solar panels so do I modify the old ups or do I scrap it. Batteries are dead by now.

Was posted on avforums. It's legit. I orderd and received... They were pretty quick with shipping via Courier guy.

I can get them, basically have an account with Ramoss & Ecoflow, we used to use it a lot in 2018 pre covid, thinking of reviving that.

Ecoflow I am importing, assuming there is demand ( I want one myself so will buy 2 more on credit card and see how they sell )
