LG KS360 Chatterbox

I bought mine at CNA, very HAPPY with it so far.

Any ideas of software other than Mxit and Opera for it?

Do you also find the Opera navigation slightly irritating or is it just me?

As for software, I basically only use Opera to check my mail and mess around on the forums so I haven't been looking for anything else. Wonder if there is a nice chat app (not MXit) that will work on the phone.

what other features does the phone have/

hows the sound and camera quality?

From my brief testing sound quality seems ok. The camera also seems to do a decent job. Definitely better than on my V360, but it doesn't seem to handle dark areas very well.

It's gota built-in FM radio which seem to receive a pretty decent signal, but you need the headset to be plugged in, but it's not as if anyone will get it for that feature ;)

Aside from that it's pretty much standard fare. It's a pretty decent mid-range phone, at least the only QWERTY equipped phone under R2000. Definitely not in the same leagues as the smartphones but seems to be doing well in other departments.

i compared it to my samsung e250 and it beat it by a few points other than that it was pretty much the same.

Well, my battery just died so no further playing around. Guess I should have charged it before starting to mess around with it.

Once concern is that I read a couple of "comments" on the web that the phone freezes and becomes unusable. I'm taking it for what it's worth, but have any of the KS360 owners actually had any problems?

I'm unfamiliar with LG's brand of phones so don't know how well they'll perform in the long run. Hopefully it won't die on me.

rofl now what how can you do this NOOOO!!!!! just kidding.

i also looked at the reviews online and read about the freezing up of the phone but there were lots of good reviews too.

Yup, the thing is I always do it to myself by trying to find fault with stuff I buy... AFTER I've bought them. The negative comments are few and far between. I'm thinking it might be due to user error rather than the actual hardware.

Only time will tell how well the phone holds up. At least it's not that expensive that you beggar yourself if it gets damaged/stolen.

For my purposes (e-mail and internet) it meets my needs perfectly for the lowest price. The closest other phone with QWERTY keyboard/buttons was about R5000, which I can't afford at this time. If worse comes to worse I just need to hang on till middle of next year when my contract can be upgraded.

do you have to download mxit or was it on there when you got it, i will use it for mixit and sms and opera mini.

You need to download it (I assume) since it's not pre-installed on the phone. I might have to finally give in and actually start using Mxit, although I have held out so far.

Both Opera Mini 3 and 4 works on the phone without any problems.

the marketing says its for mxit or whatever but if you have to download it then its the same as any other phone.
