One thing I find less than ideal in handling the phone, is the placement of the volume rocker.
Nitpicking now... I think I might be in love with this phone...

LOL and I came from a LG G3 that had the volume buttons on the back. Now that got taking use to.

The Nexus 5X is by far one of the better phones I have used lately.

Found a not too badly prices USB-A to USB-C cable here: http://raru.co.za/electronics/2997870-kanex-usb-c-to-usb-a-3-0-cable-1-2-meter-male-male

Is that the going price of cables these days...? :(
I think I might take a stroll through Vodaworld, seeing as I work on premises. Are there any other phones/tablets using Type-C ports? Reason for asking is I want to know if it's even worth going out and looking for a charger/car charger.

Yes it is a bit steep but that is the cheapest I have been able to fine. The only other device I know that uses the USB-C connector in SA would be the Apple MacBook.

Well... usage dependant. First couple of days, it was just shy of full day's usage. But then I'm on the same charge since Sunday morning 10:00, and I'm now on 36% with some estimated 15h left. This is with light usage and some "Battery saver" usage mixed in between.

And hows the sound from the two speakers on the front of the phone?

Loudness is pleasant, compared to my previous phones with the speakers on the back of the phone. Especially when the phone is lying on my bed. I'm not sure about actual sound quality though, my notification and tones sounds 'n bit more... I want to say hollow, metallic sounding. Might just be my imagination though. But overall great improvement to what I used previously, so I'm pleased.

I thought one of these speakers was a microphone like the 2013 nexus?

There is a tiny pin hole between the usb and headphone ports, which I assume is the mic (there's also an issue raised about this as certain case manufacturers neglected to take this into account so on some of the cases the mic doesn't work properly as the case inhibits this). So as far as I understand, it's two speakers. I could be wrong though. So I'll try and confirm it either way.

Edit: Seems it's indeed only a single speaker, so I'm not sure anymore. If someone else can chime in here...

I swear Orange website said they had 100 32GB Black 5X's this morning! It currently shows at 7?!?

Not impossible. I think these phones are in high demand, especially the black variants. People don't seem keen on the quartz white editions. I would really not be surprised if Orange manages to shift all of their stock in a single day.

They probably have a bug or issues with their website. Yesterday I saw they had around 80 in stock. This morning they still do.

Besides, I do not think the 5x will be such a hit in SA. This is a relatively unknown device to our market. It is only those who are really tech-savvy who knows about them and wants to try them out.

The 6P, in my opinion, will be a better seller than the 5X if they could manage to bring it to SA for under the 7K price range.

I know, I will be the first to admit that :)

It is actually bad when you consider the entry level sells for R6.8k in the US. The same model sells for around R9k in the UK. But, hey, here's to hoping....
