Hey all.

I seem to be having some latency issues in the Linden/Robidale area. (Randburg)
Every day at 6pm my latency starts to climb and climb up until 10/11pm. Then it slowly drops again.
During the day the line is a dream. So im pretty lost. :(
Usual ping to teamspeak or gaming servers stays at 8ms but during 6-11pm it goes as high as 400ms.

Ive phoned telkom numerous times just to get a sms a day or two later saying that it has been resolved.
That would be great if they actually fixed something or at least told me what the problem was.

Does anyone here have the faintest clue what the problem could be?
Is it my line? My exchange? My hardware?

Any answer or solutions would be helpful.
Thanks!

Love this countries telecom powerhouse aka Telscum!
Just so pointless. All the government talks about is pushing this country forward.
How exactly do they plan on doing that if we cant even do something as simple as providing proper internet. GG

YAY! From a 250ms average to a 600ms average in the past week.

Looking at how long other exchanges have this problem, I might as well cancel my dsl account.
Cant be bothered paying the amount every month and having the problem for at least 6 more months.

I just dont understand how they can sell DSL lines to an area where there is no space? Its like owning a hotel and just keep booking people in even though you are already 100 over the room limit. It doesnt make any goddamn sense...

Well done Telkom. Well done...

Hey guys

Having the same crap. On the LINDEN (RLDN) Exchange.
You can check your exchange on http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/search/phone/
Sick of telkom. Thinking of getting cell c for my online gaming because after 5pm my latency is around 500ms, if I am lucky 400ms but still need ADSL for downloads.

Wish I didnt need ADSL and wish ADSL was naked!!

Hey Ryan,

Will be phoning hellkom again tomorrow and report back on what they say.
Currently I'm also trying to use my cell c but its struggling in this area as well.

So I'm at a loss. Really don't know what to do anymore.
Planning on moving soon anyway so I'm hoping that the new place doesn't have the same sh*t...

When I first got my Cell C I use to get 70ms in Black Ops.

The other day when I tried to use it I got the same as my DSL.
Haven't tried it since then. Will use it a bit today.
I have the same problem as you in the gaming department. Im currently playing in the MW3, BF 3 and League of Legends leagues.

KK gaming FTW :D

Sigh. Really sick of this. Pay so much for ADSL and this is what happens. What I dont understand is that telkom have been loosing clients now how are there so many exchanges that are all of a sudden so congested?

Sorry dude, I have a 4meg line in Linden and I'm problem free....

Im also seeing a massive improvement today. Was at 200ms between 5-6 though. Hope this is a good sign of them fixing things.

Or maybe ppl are just not on their dsl lines today. No1 knows...

Hey, sorry for the late reply - works been hectic.

That website says my exchange is the LINDEN (RLDN) exchange.
