Ready, set, DOWNLOAD!

Available in two editions, Linux Mint 13 features the choice between a productive, stable and mature MATE 1.2 desktop and the brand new modern-looking and exciting Cinnamon 1.4. These two desktops are among the best available, they’re perfectly integrated within Linux Mint and represent great alternatives to Gnome 2 users. Linux Mint 13 is also an LTS (Long Term Support) release and it will be supported until April 2017.

How many people have installed this?

I'll do the wife's PC a little later on.

I have downloaded it overnight...but I have torrents running and it is going very slowly...so I have to wait for that to finish before I install else I have to start from scratch.

Careful..
I heard it will self delete on 21 December

HAHAHAHAHAHA nice one ;)

Downloaded and installed on a VM. Had a major stuff up happen in the last month. Installed Ubuntu 12.04 to test it out for a month, while I wait for Mint 13. Well after playing around for about 2 weeks and loads of editing I got to a desktop(Screenshot) that I actually like. So not installing Mint 13 as base this time round.

Switched my desktop machine at home from Win8 to Mint 13 with MATE. Runs like a dream busy doing the same with my work laptop

Icons http://deviantdark.deviantart.com/art/hydroxygen-iconset-100826865 (has build in script to change colors)
Theme was from http://www.noobslab.com/2012/05/mac-os-x-lion-for-ubuntu-1204-precise.html (Edited the values to get the colors I wanted)
Background from who knows where but I uploaded it to http://imgur.com/s5mbm

Edit: If you want my gtk files I can zip it and pop into dropbox

Thank you so much; I wonder if your gtk files would work with MATE

Is this still Ubuntu based or have they switched to Debian yet?

Edit: Answered my own question.

Still Ubuntu based...but they have a version of Linux Mint Debian available on their site that you can download.

I installed the Debian version on my netbook to test it out, and you have to get used to the very slow pace of Debian. It has now been 10 days without any updates at all. And it is based on Debian Testing!!!

I ran Stable (v6) not to long ago and absolutely nothing happens :D Keep in mind that Testing is approaching it's freeze period I think so things will slow down.

I liked my stable experience but I could not live with the outdated packages when everybody else was getting the latest.
