Sharkbait gave me his Z5500.. :-)

I just love them... But it was to loud for my PC... So it went to my LCD TV, lol.. Played better then my Sony home theater system so.. :-)

I seem to be opposite to you. I never watch tv. The crappy tv speakers can stay there. Z-5500 are on my pc. Just trying to save up for a T260 now...

Really when I played my music my GF couldn't hear her X530 over my 10" SUB, lol... Plus the THX and everything else is just so good as a Home Theater system...

crysis,
You often get these Logitech anti-fanboys that categorically denounce Logitech. The bass is a bit too much for *some people but you can turn it down. Since using my Z-2300 set I get frustrated listening to speakers with nonexistent subs because it just sounds empty. As far as computer speakers go, Logitech is completely dominant; whether that is due to quality or advertising I can't say. I haven't had a high-end Creative set, so I can't make that comparison. Any home theater speakers will generally be more expensive and less convenient. You can't compare Logitech computer speakers to bookshelf speakers - you didn't, directly - because that's in a completely different league. Short answer: if you're looking for computer speakers, get Logitech...

OP,
The Z-4 speakers are much better quality speakers than the X-530 and will also have much more substantial bass. I wouldn't go for the G51...

That music is best in stereo isn't entirely true; if you have the Z-5500 (and other speakers) then you can use digital input and then some Dolby wizardy takes place and you're music is 5.1-ified.

renvilo,
If you decide to sell your Z-5500 I'm first in line.

Not true. There are many more alternatives other than creative. Sure, as far as what a company like sybaritic, or any normal computer shop would sell, logitechs probably are the best there. However, for the same price, you can get these, which imo are far superior:
http://soundz.co.za/pSARESOLV120A/Samson-Audio-RESOLV120A-Active-10-Subwoofer-each.aspx
and
http://soundz.co.za/pSAMEDIAONE5A/Samson-Audio-Media-One-5A-Active-Studio-Monitors-pair.aspx

Now, i know what your thinking, these are pretty low end studio speakers, but as far as sound quality goes, they are far better. And since they are low end, they wont be too clinical, and sound quite hifi instead.

Crysis you just made the opposite of your point, lol.. Those Speakers look K@K and really they will not compare to the Z5500... The clarity (Even on the Volume Boost) is so good. It's made for a PC but a lot of people buy them over a HT System...

Sorry I think those speakers on the link will be a lot lower then the Z.....

You think, but you don't know? I'm sorry, but judging things by the way they look as just made me realize that i will never be your friend. Sorry..

Becides, for about the same you can get these http://soundz.co.za/pMABX8ADELUXE/M...t-Bi-amplified-Studio-Reference-Monitors.aspx

I have enough friends man, lol...

Well I can make a flippen nice set of Sakyno speakers for you and you will be impressed how good they are....

But you will phone me after a few months and tell me that they smell weird... Buy stuff that is branded and maybe expensive even if you have to save another month but at least it's something worth waiting for... Logitech is the master on Sound and that's the way it is...

Go second and you get creative... Go third and you have Knoshi hahahaha.....

Cheers man and GL with the search...

Well one day when you visit this side of the world let me play something thru them and you'll have your proof...

Ok guys, no point in arguing the issue, Lets VOTE on it.

1 for Logitech

The average untrained ear will find Logitech Z2300s at R2000 much better.

Please compare apples with apples. We are talking PC speakers. Therefore Altec Lansing/Creative/Divoom/Logitech etc...

Altec Lansing/Creative/Divoom/Logitech are in the guy's budget. Yours aren't, and will offer inferior sound to an equivalent R2000 "normal PC speaker brand" (satellites + sub) to the untrained ear.

Im not even talking about the Z2300's, im comparing them to the Z5500's. I also dont know where you get this inferior sound to the untrained ear bullsh1t. Please redo your home work and redo your sound engineering course because clearly you have forgotten something.

Then make a new thread. The budget is R2k max which caters for Altec Lansing/Creative/Divoom/Logitech PC speakers that will be playing mp3s and Xvid movies etc., not studio monitors.

crysis,
Those speakers are considerably more expensive than even the Z-5500, if you buy 2 x R2797 and that's without the 10" which adds booths however much. They are more expensive and more 'good' than is needed. A better comparison would be an Altec-Lansing pair or something.

renvilo,
Almost any studio monitors/bookshelf speakers will blow the Z-5500 out of the water in any comparison you care to offer. It's a completely different ball game at that level. I'd love to get a decent set of bookshelfs when I've got 20k to blow...
