The output on my 4x4 hdmi Matrix recommends maximum output distance of 15m.

I need to output to a display which is 40m away.

Should/Can I use:

...3 x 15m hdmi cables plus two hdmi extenders?
...2 x 20m hdmi and one hdmi extender?

I am not concerned whether the output quality is 720 or 1080

HDMI has no specified standard length before signal loss occurs. It depends on the Certification of the cable.
AFAIK the "normal" compliance cable is 45 feet. Or roughly 13 meters.

So for best quality I would suggest 3 x 15M with one extender. IF you're willing to dig out a lot more cash for a very expensive cable you could probably go for 2 x 20M

This product from HDCabling supposedly extend HDMI signals up to 40m (720P)

Thanks for the advice. Good to see there are multiple options.

I'm not questioning the fact that yours is working 100% :)

LOL... too true...

I will be redoing all my stuff soon enough, centralising all my media equipment into my study so I'm probably going to be using these beasts then...

I like the idea of being able to wire it all into a single switch on my home network... will just be neater in the long run.

Got one for sale. Came from HD Cabling. One sender unit and one receiver, plus power supply - R 200,00. We used a long HDMI cable instead
