I've been on WA 1mb uncapped for a 3 months now, hanging in there waiting for things to improve but it's just going down hill. So looking for a alternative under R500, its a mental barrier.

At the momement considering going back to cybersmart with my line R248 and making use of the special running at OpenWeb at the moment of Standard Uncapped @ R229 pm.

Is this a decent alternative or should I just spend the extra money a month and get Mweb?

I'm on axxess just uncapped 4meg. I do 60-100 gigs a month, have yet to be shaped or throttled. Local ping 9ms, UK 195ms, USA 310ms.

Under R500 a month.

Go and get trail accounts at mweb and openweb. See which one works best for you.

I'd take a bet that once enough has left and everything runs "smooth" it will be noted how well, nothing is wrong ;)

For selfish reasons, I hope this statement will be true in the near future!! Problem is that WA has SO much ground to catch up on

The guys at Mweb kindly gave me a test account. I can tell you I have been extremely impressed so far, for what I use it for it is awesome. I will be canceling my Webafrica account and moving to Mweb. Just wish there was a way I could fast forward the months notice period.

Some of my experience :

Gaming - Latencies are comparable to WA.
Downloading - Even in business hours, I got good speeds which I was not expecting at all. I did not test torrents as I dont use them, only http and news servers.
Youtube - Runs much better then my capped WA account, even though the test account is 4mb uncapped and my WA is 10mb.

Mweb. I'm signing up on Monday morning.

get mweb.

i see allot of wa guys jumping to mweb.

Yep. I made the jump and couldn't be happier.

Seriously, try it for a month, you'll see why. Actually, even better: ask MWEB Guy to get a consultant to call you and give you a 1-week free trial on the network. I think that will be enough to get you to convert.

Im really trying to understand how a company who sells products can allow there customers to leave them. Im not even bothering to leave tickets as according to them i must pay a premuim for what i use the account for.

You are surprised at all? I mean they did start the product with a lie with more following.

It seems almost like WA uncap is going the same route as DigiChilli (for those who remember).

I am wondering, if I leave WA uncap, can I leave my line with them at the discounted uncap line price.

The thing that bothers me at the moment with WA is that they are trying to lie in any way possible to get more customers. But, it seems they cannot hold up with their claims anymore. Lol, remember when they said, they basically always have spare capacity.

Digichilli was a heck of a lot worse ;)
Nope, unfortunately not. It's a bundle price. The capped accounts get discounted line rentals, but less than the uncapped.

...can't agree woth you more...i've had ***** with WA since Jan 2012...I'm also in the process of moving away...promises, promises, promises....that's all you ever hear. Everytime i loggen into AXXESS, i get decent speeds..log into WA...and some "routes" don't even work as the "gateways" on those PC/s (or whatever devices they use) "time-out"

I now have to choose between 2 ISP's...
1) Telkom ( service sucks, but bucks = "ok" )
2) Axxess ( Service good, but bucks = "more" )

@Robin Hood what about Mweb?

I'm not so sure hey...I believe they're good with "Uncapped", but i am seeking "capped"...will look into it anyways...
PS: i think MWEB is the most expensive :(

Most ISP's do offer an option to transfer an existing line to them I believe, they may not have as much of a discount as WA does at the moment, but even R20 saved is R20.

I'd imagine any ISP would be a iffy about leaving the line with them, but moving data elsewhere though.
