Strangely, for the past two week i've been getting good service, ping under 100, and transfer speeds 2-3mbps, up and down. (that is my expectation)
connect to the psn no problem and once in game, completely lag free. playing bfbc2.

@Cell_C

People here are pretty polite, so I'll say it like it is - Your service is a joke, your responses are a joke, your online support doesn't reply, you don't fix ***** all but can still manage to take our money with efficiency and your technicians must be harvested from the ranks of failed supermarket tellers. The only 'wooosh' is the sound of money flushed down the toilet.

People ask for feedback but all you see are little "PM'd you" - stinks of information management. Don't bother to PM me with your bullsh*t spin stories. Intresting that on the cell C site there is not one bad customer experience listed.

As soon as I can get a decent service from another provider I'm going to give your stupid little speed stick a viking funeral and flush the ashes down the bog, where it belongs.

If you don't like this feedback, then tough sh*t, sort your company out.

My problem with the constant disconnects and crap speeds was resolved for a few hours the other day, but no joy since then. Been in contact with the Cell C rep here, but nothing has been done - obviously...

I've had horrible connectivity for 2 weeks, it's worse during the day. Speeds are either really slow or non-existent. I constantly have to disconnect and reconnect just to get pages to finish loading. Out of desperation I now browse with images turned off. This is seriously reminding me of my experiences with Mweb uncapped ADSL, just as unreliable and slow. I'm in Rivonia and signal strength is never lower than 90%. I emailed Cell C, but got no response :-(

So much for Whooosh :-/

Cell C no service

My tower is not working correctly for more than 3 months now after how many calls and e-mails.

I'm really getting sick of this and is thinking about going back to Vodacom, they know how to service the public.

Cell C, you are a Mickey Mouse company and don't know how to fix your problems.
U are useless!

i had serious connection issues last night - get disconnected every 20 - 30 mins to the point my pc nearly got a size 11 foot imprint into the sidepanel - but alas i cooled down reconnected - played Aion - got kicked - calmly held the power button walked over to my bed and watched the back of my eyelids - sad was so happy with my dongle in the beginning but now i feel ADSL would've been a better option even though you wait 5 life times for a line then 3 more for ADSL to be activated

No problemss here!

I've got the Cell C thingy, the white one. I get 3G/HSPA in a "non-covered" area :)

Location: 8 Stone Haven Road, Paulshof, Sandton
Date & Time of Issue: All the time
Device Manufacturer & Model: Huawei E1820
Contract Type (pre- or post-paid): Pre-Paid
Existing reference numbers from Helpdesk: 1106013118 and 1388623
RAT (2G/3G/HSPA+): VODA EDGE (Roaming)
www.speedtest.net results (if possible): Not possible
Cell ID (if possible): N/A
RSSI (if possible): N/A

Any other information relevant to the problem:
There isn't an issue with the Device as it works perfectly in other areas. However, at home it is unable to pick up any Cell C 3G. It rarely connects to VODA EDGE Roaming. The call centre said that there is Cell C 3G connectivity in the area and will need to send someone out to check the tower.

Hey, I'm in the same area. I didn't have any problems with my connection (getting 3mbps+) until the past two or three weeks. Connectivity and download speeds are really bad, especially during the day. http://www.speedtest.net/result/1323559400.png

I have no hardware or software problems and get 90%+ signal strength and connection to HSPA+. I've also reported it and they said they'd check the tower. Glad you have as well.

I am feeling your pain. Exact same problem for 3 months now.
Can we get our money back on these black paper weights?

I've had a tough few weeks (out of the past few months) with my speedstick but, in all honesty, it has been no more unreliable than my Mweb ADSL was. I got through to technical support after two tries and logged a fault. I also discovered on this board that another user in my area has also been having problems. Since then things have been running much better.

I think it's important to maintain perspective here. All of this technology and infrastructure is pretty state-of-the-art. This is really something out of The Jetsons- being able to connect with and communicate with billions of people around the planet instantaneously and wirelessly is pretty damn amazing.

I think this clip is apt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r1CZTLk-Gk

The one night in the year, the ONE NIGHT!!!! in the year...sorry .. I'm just upset. I've been so excited to watch E3 live this year (which I did with Vodacom last year) and tonight it's E3. Only one problem...

EFFING Cell C decides to eff me over and since 5pm everything is messed. Horrible speed, horrible ping, horrible everything. I've checked the online stream and it simply buffers every 2 secs which in turns = un-viewable. Hey thanks Cell C... o and FU.

There's no point in me logging a complaint since there's no point in having it resolved tommorow etc. I needed it to work now. I've even tried my laptop and different locations but nope, it's obviously a tower/area thing again.

FML!!!

Has anyone else had issues in the Greenstone area for the past few weeks?

My connection (midrand, carlswalh a/h) has also improved dramatically on 7-June. Gone from 0.4Mb/s d/l, 0.04Mb/a up on 6-June to 5.4Mb/s d/l and 0.61Mb/s up on 7-June. About the same today.
It's a miracle...whatever has changed, don't change it back....

Oh gosh, please can we have some of that in Paulshof/Sunninghill? Connection this past week has been a real improvement over how it was, but is still definitely not "Whoooosh". I can't get better than 0.4mb/s tonight, though :-(
