LTE Signal issue

hi guys,

so i have the LTE telkom 100 + 100+ data product but im only picking up full signal of 3G and 1 bar of LTE which is terrible so im using 3G all the time. (there are no telephone lines where i am so im stuck with this) My current router is the Huawei E5186

As you can see in the picture below, im just out of range of LTE (my house is marked by the red x). my question is if I install an antenna, would i be able to reach the tower and if so what would be the best product to get? I have looked on www.antennas.co.za but I live on an estate so one of those smaller boxes would probably be best as they are more subtle.

What do you mean by "best product to get"? You already have a contract with Telkom right?

Have you tried locking the router to only use LTE?

I had a similar problem where the device would switch between LTE and 3G. The 3G throughput was <200kbps but LTE throughput was around 6mbps. Locking to LTE made a massive difference.

yeah when i lock to lte its way too slow with 1 bar. If you look at the screenshot, im just outside of the LTE zone.

Did you check if your property is actually covered by LTE before buying in to the product? That could be the problem if you only have 1 bar.
