Hi, I'm new to wireless broadband and have recently receive my Telkom box of tricks. I have followed the instructions and despite a nice blue light (not cyan) it will not connect to the net. Several calls to Telkom have not resolved the problem. Ticket is open but I have little faith.
Can anyone post or direct me to settings that work so I can compare what I have please.
Regards
Rob

You have to wait for the sim to be activated. The blue light light is 3g. Lte is a teal light and it can take 3 to 5 days to be activated if your lucky 2 days.

hi Kingtom
i had the same issue, it would only connect to 3G. I change the network settings from "auto" to 4G and it took a while (24hrs) to connect to LTE. you need to give it time, also you need to unplug n plug for the sim to re-connect

Thanks for the replies but this looks like a location issue. I took the thing to work today and it sat on LTE happily all day with just the bunny ears. As soon as I get home back to the same problem. It does not see LTE even with the Poynting antenna. Sees 3G and if I select manual for the search mode it claims to be registered but will not access the Internet. Homes screen on the router shows full signal strength on 3G but the word disconnected next to it.
I'm not sure how accurate the maps were when I signed up but I should have 2 towers enabled for LTE unlimited within 500 meters. There is another one I have direct line of sight to which is not. Could it be that my unit is defaulting to this tower in preference to the others yet once linked is not allowed further access downstream?

If you took out a package or offering from Telkom eg those uncapp service they advertising those are most likely locked to the base station on which you took out the contract on, but I'm not 100% sure about that because where I'm at the moment we don't have LTE coverage so my router defaults to 3G. But that kinda makes sense and why they selling the contracts per base stations and not just as a normal LTE service.

The sim is not locked to certain towers, as tested by other guys on the forum

It definitely has something to do with the location you are at. The router is not linked to a particular tower either. I use the B315 interchangeably at home and at work and get basically to same performance as I am about 500 meters from the tower at both locations. See my speedtest result.

i dont know if i should create a new thread or not.i have a question related to the b315 modem.

I received my LTE modem today for smart home LTE unlimited. My sim is RICA'd and activated and there are signal bars present but i cant connect to the internet as it says "disconnected" all the time.

I've been through 4 call center agents in the technical department and none of them could help me.

Ive already tried resetting the modem and creating new connection profiles but it hasnt helped. what should i do?

Hi guys. I know this is an old post. I've been using Telkoms LTE services for almost 3 years now.
I'm currently on the lte 30GB+30GB deal, and decided to upgrade to the uncapped one for R599pm x24.

I've been going through these forums like a animal searching for answers, but no luck, I want to know if I'll be able to use the Uncapped sim outside of the "Fixed Registered Area"?
I travel alot, pretty much my Router went were my pc went, I haven't gotten the thing yet, so I couldn't test it myself yet, but I mean the places I use it most of the times, has LTE coverage, but it's not in these "Uncapped Areas"

So I mean, will I be able to take my internet off the "Fixed Location"?
If not, I'm going to have to Maak 'n plan to cancel this poop, quickly.....

Hope to hear from someone

Hi guys

I have the b315 router and are experiencing an 'odd' problem. Had a Telkom technician out and he cannot makes sense of it either ( plus colleague's he called at Telkom and even Huawei ).

The router connects to my Pc, connect to the internet no problem. If I want to navigate to another location in sites it won't respond eg I connect to the Telkom site, no problem. Want to navigate to My Telkom login, no way. Does this on several other sites.

Connect it to another laptop, everything works fine. Connect another device to my Pc, everything works fine. There seems to be ' secondary' block between device and my computer.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
