LucidView mobile uncapped feedback

I was hoping to get about 12-13GB of phone usage and hotspot usage a month but right now I think if I can hit 500mb in a month it will be a huge milestone......

I'm actually shocked they are selling the product for R199 a month. What a rip off.

All my speedtests deleted. People who quoted me in speedtests, unquote me. And remove yours' as well.

Hi all

Speed test has been given priority 1, which is the priority all the chatting applications on chitchat enjoy. Remember this product is for chatting, not downloading.

Please see the published priority's at www.lucidview.net

Hi

Remember this product has R50 talk time included and R149 goes towards the entire months data usage, regardless on how much data you have used.

Your terms of use sure change a lot.
The speed test does not give a true reflection of the service provided.
That alone is misleading.

Hi

PPT files are regarded as downloads and will be given a low priority, see www.lucidview.net for published priority list.

Why's speedtest given first priority? Who speedtests how long IM messages get sent?

That's insane man, R199 for chatting? What about BIS @ R70? Which is more than chatting.

How do you cancel the product?

Slab, I think it would be useful to leave the Speedtests on the board. By doing so it illustrates to everyone that Lucidview intentionally curtail the experience at all costs despite the connections having the potential reflective in these speedtests.

You are downloading the website page, this is not what the product was made for :D :D

This is a load of pure BS
They prioritize the stuff that uses no bandwidth and everything else is slow enough to be virtually unuseable.

So essentially it's significantly more effective to just take your R150 that's allocated to the data and buy a 2Gb bundle or whatever from your service provider. Lots of good mobile data deals available.

When I first saw this I knew there was a con lurking somewhere!!!!

Chat product for R200, ok even R150. Really? This should be R30 like MTN did a while back. EDIT: I think the R30 IM product from MTN still exists.

afrihost R150 for 5GB :P on the same network!

Ah cool, I'm glad that there's a rep here now.

LucidView, I know it's difficult with everyone already being cranky. I think that all of us expected a different kind of product from the initial MyBroadband article. The article led us to believe that speeds will be good except when the bandwidth is too busy after which priorities will be given to certain kinds of traffic. Which for all of us sounded great.

However now it seems that there's nothing dynamic about the system so it feels like we were misled and lied to.

Personally I wanted a product where I can browse during the day without having to worry about going over my allotted bandwidth. See I've got Vodacom LTE which is blisteringly fast but I've only got 3GB. So I thought I can use that during peak times and then use LucidView at other times to browse, stream music now and then and maybe watch a youtube video or two, even if I have to stop it to load. The speeds mentioned here are exceptionally bad though. In fact it sounds unusable.

The Youtube video that Slab posted is shocking.

So that's why everyone's cranky. The product is different from what was described in the MyBroadband article.
