LucidView mobile uncapped feedback

afrihost R150 for 5GB :P on the same network!

I'm currently on the 10GB for R197 plan. I can do all my chatting and small downloads there.

You'll be lucky to do 500MB on this product.

Lucidwiew, how do you cancel?

Hi all

Speed test has been given priority 1, which is the priority all the chatting applications on chitchat enjoy. Remember this product is for chatting, not downloading.

Please see the published priority's at www.lucidview.net

Chitchat Administration

welcome Sir, thank you for responding here :)

May I begin by asking what Second priority actually is? If I have a line speed of 3mbs on priority 1 (120km/h)as illustrated with speed test, how is it possible that Facebook which resides in priority 2 (100km/h) takes 5 minutes to render? There seems to be a total collapse from P1 to P2? Similarly, where is google search residing, because it too fails dismally....these are normal webpages...? these are not downloading sites!

Initially FUP was based on the available bandwidth as per original MyBB article, and then the www.lucidview.net website was edited 10 times. There wasn't a priority 20 even to begin with.

How is available bandwidth determined?

Hi

Remember this product has R50 talk time included and R149 goes towards the entire months data usage, regardless on how much data you have used.

Chitchat Administration

Is it possible to offer a data capped service for R199 at full speeds, say 10GB?

The experience with this product is not really tenable as it stands. If this product is aimed at chit-chatting as its priority then by all means do so. But, can you at least confirm that priorities 2,3,4 are static that remains in that state despite the network's capacity? I think members are under the impression that these priorities are congestion dependent. If they are static, then the degradation seen in lower priorities is permanent and as such useless - what''s the point of unlimited data if one cannot use it?

I far prefer 10GB at full speed than unlimited GB at ridiculous speeds.

I think you guys need to re-look at this offer - from a personal point of view it's too expensive for kids for whatsapp and useless to adults for normal usage - basically the product a silly marketing gimmick purporting to offer unlimited data, which is true, but untrue in the grander scheme of it.

EDIT:

Please relegate speedtest.net to priority 3....Out of curiosity I would like to see the line speeds at this level...

Cancel guys.. dont waist your time with this product.. too much of a headache to worry about this

The priorities are clearly static and will not change.....

They say its a chatting service...... God I can't even download whatsapp with this apn. Whats the point of it. Anything below the 1st priority is so bad it doesn't even want to work...

I don't think 1 person took this for massive amounts of downloads but rather as product with a fixed fee. I mean I took it to use on my apple iphone 5 cause it seemed like a decent product.... God I can even send a email with a attachment cause its failing the whole time.

If the only thing you can do with this product is chat and NOTHING else then you guys are MAD to charge consumers R199 for this product. The appstore on my iphone doesn't even want to load. Some apps like dropbox doesn't work.... Hmmm waste of money I'm canceling.

No email replies. No nothing. I hope they're in a meeting with the technical team on how to improve the product. Otherwise it's a big FAIL.

If LUCIDVIEW were under the misinformed belief that they were going to deal with kiddies as their clients, they certainly have had a rude-awakening. Mybb are a collective - injury to one is an injury to all! I don't mind losing out on the money if it's school fees I pay and benefits us all - I've benefited so much from so many other members who've been down similar roads as 'test-pilots'...

Also, every kid or 2nd kid has a Blackberry where he accesses his porn and downloads files. And parents forcing this upon their children, not going to happen. The kid's going to be like "But dad, I've already got unlimited Internet for R60/70 p/m. Which I can do everything except YouTube." Plus, nothing would stop a teen getting his porn :D :p been there few years ago.

Trying to google something for my studies, I get this (several attempts):

But nooooooooo, let's rather prioritise the really important stuff shall we, like speedtest.net:

:mad::confused::cry::twisted::erm::sick::wtf:

Speedtest uses about 6MB, done in a flash - but 22kb/s to stream a station is too much....lol

Damn, I haven't even tried to use it (only got sim yesterday). Only wanted better coverage than Edge but that seems far fetched reading all these comments.
Please post on how to cancel. Don't want R200 deducted next month.

I sent through a cancellation request now. I'm not sure how it's going to work since I haven't started with it all yet. My SIM was only scheduled to come next month and no money has been deducted yet.

Will have to wait and see. Thanks for the updates everyone. I'm sorry that it didn't work out.

Not even 24 hours later....

To whom it may concern at Lucidview,

Please be advised that I hereby serve to inform you that I request termination of the chit-chat service subscription. This service being in the amount of R199-00 on cellphone number ******* loaded with SIM number ********.

Please be advised that this request constitutes my intent to withdraw from this service formulated on this the 16th day of October 2013. I have paid for usage up to and including the month of October 2013. My expectation is the debit order scheduled to deduct from my bank account on 02/11/2013 must be rescinded and further permanently cancelled by virtue of this request.

If there are further requirements needed from me by Lucidview that would otherwise preclude this termination request, please contact me, failing which I will be rested with the impression that this request constitutes my full and final intention and your full and final acceptance.

Yours in chat.
