Mac forums very quiet (Bootcamp prob)

Yep got SP2.

Do you think it's because I only partitioned 5GB? I'll remove the Windows partition and try it again from the beginning.

Used the Boot Camp assistant. When I boot into Windows it only comes up with that Disk Error.

And i can't type any key to restart so i'm forced to hold down power button.

@#$^@#$% Windows piece of $#%^ software..

I should've just stayed with Mac OS.

Trying again for the 3rd time, if I dont come right i'm not bothering anymore!

Dunno, I did 32 gb with FAT32.
I also did one of two @#$^@#$%'s

But that's cause I used a slip streamed CD, my legal copy only has SP1.

32GB!? There's no ways in hell i'm handing over 32GB to Windows. It belongs to my Mac OS :D

Re Re Re-Partitioning. Let's wait and see.

BTW it is a legal copy of XP2 so I don't know why it's throwing all these errors at me!

U can make it smaller later if u want.

Haha! I once recall a technician telling me over the phone 'RTFM'.

Only up until now I understand what he was saying.

Read The F*cking Manual :D

So after my 4th time I decided to print the manual, and realised that on Pg 13 it CLEARLY states: Do not select: "Leave the current file system intact".

All up and running. Thanx alf ;)

Enjoy.
My XP boot camp has lasted a year now, without a format or reinstall.
Quite amazing.

LOL - I fell into the same trap... Was going to help you out but you came right anyway. ;)

One last question....

I plugged in my SeaGate External Drive and Windows won't read the files.

As the drive is brand new and I don't mind formatting it, what file system in Disk Utility do I format the drive so that it works in Mac OS and Windows?

I did the same exact thing. Leaving the format intact the first time I tried. :D

Now I need to get a more legal copy of XP. I have 25 days left before I have to register this copy, and I really don't want to buy XP from the store...

Must find clean install and reg codes...

PM your email addy and i'll give you a patch.

The only reason I still use XP is for my Garmin and a DVD that refuses to rip with mactheRipper & DVD2OneX.

Have now changed to Fairmount and DVD2OneX since MacTheRipper is no longer updated and am getting better results.

Same here. Nokia Syncing/Updating of firmware and Garmin :)

So you reckon this Fairmount is better? I must give it a try, cos some of my DVD's skip and just don't play after certain chapters with MacTheRipper. I've been using Fast DVD Copy for last DVD seems to work with no errors. Downloading Fairmount now...

How do you find it - you must have VLC installed for it to work
