yeah, even WITH DSTv's HD Channels, the 720p Plasma will look better. (cause there is no scaling at all)

if your going to watch anything a lot, then rather not the sinotech :p seriously bud its a good deal, but put it next to the big boys and its got its tail between its legs.

Well I tell you what I am getting both frustrated and confused as to what to get. Narrowed it down now to Samsung 50" Plasma HD ready series 4 or Sinotec 47" Full HD LCD, both currently R12k. Just back from Makro Edenvale where the Sinotecs were properly displayed and they look good again. So difficult though cause what you gain with Plasma you lose with LCD and biseversa unless one is going top end...:confused:

Hell man, not sure now what to do. Also 42" full HD Sinotec LCD at R8k just makes sense/cents in so many ways... Ai... What to do? What to do?

Just came back from Makro after returning the Sinotec 42-inch Full HD LCD. Wasn't happy with the quality, and also came with a huge scratch on the base stand.

I'm going to take my time in looking around for a new big screen tv, because it's not an essential for me right now. Considering just keeping the money for now, and only getting one once a variety of proper HD content is available in SA.
 
Iv Had This Tv For About 10 Months Now And Its Awsome HD Looks Great With My Xbox 360 Go For It It Is A Real Good Deal On A Full HD LCD

Would assume it got carried over from what has become common practice for computer monitors. You are more than welcome to measure it in parsecs if you prefer, but that might be a bit impractical :D
 
Sandman - why don't you get the Sinotech, take it home and use it for a few days and see if you like it. If you don't, you can always return it to Makro and get the Samsung plasma.

That's what I did.
I wanted to keep the Sinotec because of the price and the guarantee but it gave me problems and I decided to go for the known.

If you have a good first time experience with the Sinotec you will probably keep it. Otherwise you might just swop it for the Samsung like I did.

Thank Makro for their 14 day peace of mind policy.
