Makro Sinotec Full HD Special

l
trust me, they use long composite cables or something - not HDMi.
Correct. I've actually told the GM of Sinotec that the way Sinotecs are being displayed at most Makros is doing the brand and product a huge injustice. He's aware of the problem and they working on better "shelf coverage" for their sets...

37'? hmmm sounds like a great size for my room. does Makro or Game have any specials or can someone recommend me a decent set (im not name brand fussy) anywhere else

Hd Ready or Full? lol i cant pay R500 more for something smaller but better.eish 8.5k for a 37 inch...jislaaik.yoh im cheap

one thing to consider with purchase from makro is that if you opt for the warranty extension and the tv price is > R10000 you are gonna pay R2000 more (iirc).

If it is <R9999 it is about R560.

This is for another 2 years warranty.

mmm.. personally I would take the 42" 100Hz Samsung plasma for R9500-00 also on special at Makro...

My choice too. It will cost you R10000 in total for a set with 3 years warranty.

Also check out Hirschs ... they have a better waranty system in place.

I buy most of my stuff there.

Keeper you obviously need to see a proper brand next to your beloved sinotech.

We know you have one, so you'll protect it to death. And as someone said, to someone who has not had a "proper" HD lcd before it will look awesome.

I sit 40cm from my screen and the writing is crystal clear. Sinotech from about a metre i could still see the edges, i even sometimes wonder about there "full" HD. i didnt want to take a dig but it is true and most people know it.

Play a blu ray disc (best quality) between the sony, or samsung fulll HD's next to the sinotech, and you will realise where that extra R3000 goes.

4cer, take a screenshot, and open it with paint - look at the size....easy.

and off course, Windows wouldn't "lie" to you if it says 1920x1080 in your display settings, lol

Didn't you say it's 50Hz?
The 50" Plasma for R12k is 50Hz and HD ready Series 4 but older model hence the reduced price. They have the new generation series 4 Plasma's, HD ready, 100Hz 42" for R9.5k on special. The 50", 100Hz Plasma goes for around R18k. I bought the 50", 50Hz Plasma yesterday for R12k, being delivered today, will let you know how it shapes up. So it's the older generation series 4 Plasma....

Also extended the warranty from 1 year manufacturers to 1 year manufacturers and 2 year makrosure for an extra R1500-00....

In the good old days your only question when buying a tv was would you get a 37cm, 51cm, 54cm or 74cm.

These days??!!!! Duck me it's ridiculous and most of it is simply marketing.

At Makro yesterday I was watching beach soccer from Brazil played through Blu ray on 4 nicely set up middle to top of the range Sony's and although the picture quality was supreme this motion blur phenomenon was evident. Or perhaps it wasn't, I don't know but what I do know is manufacturers in the bid to be the best have invented and developed all kinds of technologies and specifications way beyond the scope of what the human eye/brain is even vaguely capable of perceiving. It's all marketing BS.

The honest to God truth is set up all sets equally running the same source media with the same picture settings etc etc and you'll be hard pressed to tell the difference...
