Makro Sinotec Full HD Special

Stop rubbing it in. ;):D


I can seriously recommend this TV to anyone.
Price is very very good and if you are not going to use it for gaming and only for TV and DVD's, this is all you will ever need.

Duck I paid R9499-00 for the Samsung at Makro yesterday but I'm not sure they the same. I see this one at Game has 40 000:1 contrast ratio where mine is dynamic contrast ratio rated at something ridiculous (2000,000:1) model is PS42A430...

My model is the same model number bought at Game.I am of the opinion they had excess stock as the branch I bought at took in a new consignment on the Friday before the special ended on Sunday.

The one in the link is the PS42B430.
 
Yes it is.Itried googling the A model and all it showed was sites in languages I could not understand.Are you sure about the model number sandmann34.

realistically speaking how much do you think FULL HD 42' like Samsung and Sony will be say one year from today?

Sorry just arrived home after drowning my sorrows in Amstel. sandmann34 you have the exact same model as I have.Checked the model number.Now take it back to Makro and ask for your money back and buy from Game.The official (no website is official)lists the same Dynamic Contrast Ratio as 2,000,000:1.Mega Contrast.Whatever that means.As long as the picture quality is decent I will live with it.

P.S Send me the additional R750.00 by post which is half of what you will save from the difference in the Makro price and Game.

haha, I emailed Makro Germiston where I bought the set asking them if they able to match Games price. I'm hoping they will refund me the difference but in the event they don't I may have to return the set on account of it not living up to expectations. Thing is to lodge the request I gave them my Makro card number so they might just block any sort of refund on that card number...:(

I anxiously await feedback...
 
If you are experiencing the same picture quality as I did for 8 days and so did APoc84 use that as an excuse to return the set.Ask for a refund.I find it very strange that Makro and Game (although both Mass Mart stores) do not compete against each other with regard to the same specials.The Samsung Plasma 42"is not even listed on the Makro website while specials on Sinotec abound on Makro.Furthermore I wonder how many buyer'S took back their LCD'S because of the picture quality without bedding them in.I know that I was very unhappy with my Plasma until Sunday and now it looks great.Can i send you my postal address?

There seriously a difference after running the sets in? I'm not convinced that such a phenomenon exists.

I got a relatively good repoire going with the salesman at Germiston. I'll give him a call in the am and get his impressions on the refund scenario. Bear in mind I already returned the Sinotec LCD to get this Plasma!!!! It's not looking good...

The only aspect of the Plasma's I'm not enjoying is the glare, battling a bit with glare and this particular model was punted as having an anti glare property. That may be the excuse I use to return it...
 
I see Game also has the Sony 40" S Series - KLV-40S400A on special for 11k.. anyone got this and is it a good price? Couldnt really seem to find any reviews for it on the net, and i would rather get something like this than the sinotech full HD for 2/3k cheaper..

Anybody had a look at the 107cm Samsung plasma at furniture city for R8999? It's on their website under the promo pages. It says HD, does this mean it's full HD?

Not likely at that price. Look at the stated full HD Sammy LCD lower down the page for comparison - R14k. They don't seem to be too bothered about giving relevant information on their ads, though...
